Idla Cornela

I don't believe what I'm seeing. Viveca on the ground, unconscious and wearing her now torn formal gown. Her hair was still in its natural braid, but it was on the brink of losing its shape.

From the shock inside me, my fingers released its grip on the bow. It fell to ground beside me. I can't deal with this right now. I just...can't.

"No. No this can't be happening!" I said to myself noticing a sign of fear in my voice.

I began to take small steps backward as Viveca's limbs started to move. She's waking up.

Dry leaves fell from her hair as she began to slowly rise off the ground. She brushed dirt off her dress and then, just as her head began to face toward the distance, she caught me standing frozen with shock. Her violent blue eyes widened with extreme worry.

"Idla?" No. Don't talk to me, please. I couldn't bear to look at her. Although, it was hard not to considering I'm too afraid to run away.

My body shook and my heart raced. I felt a strong shiver race down my spine. For some reason, I just couldn't bring myself to move any part of my body. I felt so betrayed and lied to. I've been living with a damn Supernatural my entire life! She's just like the rest of them. Cold, dangerous, and unworthy of survival. Lormont can not have a dragon for a queen! It's just too unnatural!

"Idla, please. It's not what you think?" She said as she struggled to get to her feet. A cry of pain and a grasp on her side brought her back down to her knees. She carefully pulled the arrow out of her flesh and threw it to the side.

"You lied to me! You're not normal--no, you're not human!" I screamed at her trying to ignore the tears of utter betrayal running down my cheeks.

"I wanted to tell you, but I knew you wouldn't understand! Please, just let me explain!"

"No!" She attempted to reach out to me but her pitiful plees won't work this time.

I finally felt strong again and started speeding towards the kingdom. "Idla, there you are. We were so worried ab--"

"How long have you known?" I shouted at my parents as they welcomed me back with open arms. Only, I rejected them.

Mother slowly retreated away from me as if she were guilty of something. Which I assume she is.

"You must understand. Viveca was cursed by a witch. She can't control it." She grasped my shoulders but I pushed her away. Great. More tears.

"She's not normal! And you knew! You knew and you didn't bother to tell your own daughter. What kind of parents are you." I feel so broken. So betrayed. Is there nobody I can trust? If I can't trust my own family then who can I count on? I guess nobody. It's true what they say, the only person you can count on is yourself. And it's time I start doing that.

-------------------------------------

If the secret is out then she will no longer be fit to rule.

I wiped my tears away and turned my back on my parents. I can't trust them anymore.

I raised my chin up and stared down the crowd. "Idla, wait!" My head whipped around to see Viveca the Traitor running towards me with blood on her hands. "Please don't do something you'll regret." She had a look of fear and worry in her cold dead eyes.

"I'm sorry, Viveca." She shook her head and backed away from me. "But you are a danger to yourself and the kingdom of Lormont."

"No. Please, Idla, don't do this. I beg of you, please!" Enough with the pleading! It won't work.

"Enough!" I shouted at her breaking my official stance. "My mind is made up and I believe the citezens of Lormont agree with me." I looked around as mothers held their children tightly in their arms; as everybody backed away from her, afraid of being attacked or incinerated on sight.

"Idla, I'm your sister! Doesn't that mean anything to you?" She's afraid. And she has the right to be.

   "Viveca Cornela, I hear by--"

   "No! You can't do this!"

   "I here by e--"

   "Idla, please stoo this madness!"

"I here by exile you from this kingdom. You are never to return. You are forbidden to come back." I said that as fast and as loud as I could before she could interrupt me again.

"What? No!" Just give up, Viveca. You can't win. Not this time.

"Go, Viveca. You are no longer welcome here."
