Breakdown

Max's pov-
Shelby was singing to same song we heard this morning. She was kinda adorable when she sings. Wait what! No stop it mind! I am kinda awkward around her. She probably thinks I don't Like her at all. Well darn. Hm this song. It's like it was meant for her. Weird. I wonder why she likes it so much? What ever. "Jess I need to talk to you later." She whispers to Jess who is in the back. All of us hear her and look confused. Jess just nods and I continue to drive to subway. It was weird earlier Jess and Ross were making Shelby sit in the front. I wonder why. Also earlier I was sitting at my desk and I could see Jess out of the corner of my eye looking at me then back at Shelby. Ok now I'm confused. I pull in to a parking space and we all go inside. Shelby pulls Jess into the bathroom. We all look at each other confused and then sit down. I wonder what they are talking about?
Shelby's pov-
I grab Jess's hand and run to the bathroom. I need to tell her about that song. We get in and I say "Jess did you hear the song and what it said?"
"Yes I heard the song it was playing in the car." She say like a smart ass.
"Jess for some reason I feel like that song is a part of me in someway!"
"Sing the lyrics." I sing the song and her eyes go wide.
"what?"
"You use to live in California. And remember how I said opposites attract and how Max usually doesn't talk in the car or to you for that matter. The song says all we do is drive
All we do is think about the feelings that we hide. I think that's why!"
"But I don't think I like him. We avoid each other."
"Well again it did say you think about the feeling that you hide. How do you feel about him!"
"I'm idk he isn't mean to me like Ross said he would be. But he never talks to me except in videos though. But Ross said that the mad max thing was an act."
"Ok we need him to talk to you more this could potentially work out!"
"Ok." I say looking down and we walk out. Tim is sitting in one side of the table with Ross and Max on the other side. I feel like Ross had something to do with this cause he usually sits next to Max. Me and Jess go over and get our sandwiches then we go back to the table. Jess quickly sits next to Tim and then I am forced to sit next to Max. He was kinda inTIMidating.(ah bad puns I'm not Jess I'll stop) Max doesn't really talk the whole time we were there except to say he needed the restroom. I was kinda sad. Does he not like me cause I'm annoying. Then I remember my arms. Oh no they are gonna find out if I'm not careful. I put down my sandwich then stick my arms under the table. I secretly pull them up under the table."so how if life Jess?" I say trying to make a conversation.
"Um good me and Jason and the kids are doing good!"
"That's good." Then we kinda go back to silence. I pull my sleeves up one more time under the table then I go back to back to eating my sandwich. Once we all finish we get in the car and drive back to work. Oh god back to Tyler I go. I really hope he doesn't see me. I put my hood back up and sit there with my legs in my arms. I can see that Ross I staring at me. I look back to him and mouth 'Tyler'. And he nods. We make it back and Jess and Ross and covering me and we make it back to my office Jess stays with me and Ross goes to his office. "Jess when do you think he will find out it's me?"
"I don't know probably tomorrow when I'm not here."
"Oh no I never thought about that. You need to come visit a lot I will need someone to talk to and I can't talk to Ross or they guys. I could talk to em but she is always so busy."
"Ok I'll come visit whenever I can!"
"Yay!" Then we giggle. She sits down on my beanbag chair and puts her earbuds in. I recorded a bunch of vids with Adam, Max, and Ross. Then I mage a harmony hallow vid with graser and H. It was a fun day. Except the Tyler part. Just then I can hear the door knob being turned. I jump and hide behind my desk.(pic at the top) Tyler walks in.
"Shelby we need to talk!" And then Jess realizes what's happening.
"Oh hi Tyler what's up?"
"Where is Shelby?"
"Who?"
"Oh don't play dumb with me Jess I know you are hiding her." And then he starts walking around the room. Ross eventually walks in.
"Tyler leave Jess alone she needs to get stuff done."
"Ross get out of here I know she is hiding her!"
"Who?"
"Your fucking cousin you idiot!" At this point Adam and Max were in here too.
"Tyler what's going on?" Adam asks.
"I'm looking for Ross's cousin I know Jess is hiding her."
"Who is Ross's cousin?" Max asks.
"Shelby you idiot and don't say oh you mean Megan cause I'll have you know Ross gave her that nickname!"
"Ok buddy come on calm down." Adam says walking over to him.
"I need to talk to her!" At this point I was starting to tear up. I didn't want any one to hear me so I buried my head in my arms. Why do they care about me? I'm just a useless waste of time and space. I cry a little until.
"Tyler just get out no one want to fight!" Adam says.
"Fine!" Tyler tells and storms out of the room. I don't come out of behind the desk. I just stay there and cry. I realize my sleeve I pull it up quickly. Then the others walk over to me.
"Don't worry Shelby he is gone." Ross says running over to me. He can't get through to behind the desk and neither can the rest of them cause I'm really tiny. Yes Jess is short but she has a butt and hips. I am not short but I have no but or hips so I can slide in. "Shelby come out we can't move the desk." I shake my head no and continue to cry. Jess try's again and fails. She reaches out her hand for me to take it but I don't.
"Shelby come on we want to help you." Adam says. I look up.
"there is no use I'm not worth it."
"What do you mean your not worth it?" Ross asks.
"I-I mean I-I'm not worth the t-Time and
e-effort." I say between crys.
"Shelby you are worth every second I'm not losing my best friend to a asshole who doesn't know when to give up." Jess says.
"Yeah!" They all say. They try to move the desk. I bugged a bit and now oh no Jess can get through. She pushes herself through the gap and sits down. She hugs me so tight.
"You are worth it." She says. I shake my head. I get up and go through the other side of the gap where Jess can't get through. I run. I run through the office. I run out the door. I run to the car. I get in cause max never locks it. I lock myself in and cry. I can see everyone running around the parking lot tying to find me. Max runs over to the car. I duck down.He unlocks the car and opens the door. I tumble out of the car and he catches me.
"I got her!" He yells and let's me back on my feet. I sit down and cry. He sits next to me and comforts me. The others come running over and give me a bug group hug. I can feel my sleeve slipping. I pull it up to my hands and act like I'm wiping away tears with my jacket.
"We are here for you Shelby." Jess exclaims. We are all still in a big hug. We stay like that for about 5 min. When everyone starts to slightly pull away I realize I just wasted everybody's time.
"I'm sorry I wasted your time." I say tearing up a bit.
"You did nothing of the sort Shelby we are happy to be here for you!" Adam exclaims. "You are just sensitive Shelby." Ross says.
"I know ........ I'm broken." I whisper the last part. I look around max was staring at me as if he heard me say that. "Well let's got back inside." We walk bAck inside and see the time.
"Looks like it's time to go back home." Ross says. I walk to my office. I grab my phone and purse. I walk out to see Max waiting to me.
"Uh they left." He said and I giggle.
"Wow he can talk I never knew. I giggle and walk out the door. I get in the car and so does he. I think if he song in my head and I look at him. "Could it be true?"I say very quietly.
"Huh?" He asks.
"Oh nothing." I say with a smile then I look back down.
"It's clearly not nothing if you said it out loud." He says raising up an eyebrow.
"Just thinking out loud that's all."
"what were you thinking about?"
"Uh um song lyrics they have got me very confused."
"What song?"
"My favorite it's like they are a part of me in some way."
"Hm that's weird did you tell Jess?"
"yeah she said it was just cause I lived in California and uh well that's it really." Then I look back down again.
"Are you sure that's it?"
"Uh yeah oh look we are here." I get out of the car but get pulled back by max.
"Shelby I know there is something your not telling me but oh well." I just look down and then I walk away. Wow our first conversation ever. I walk inside and go upstairs. I walk in my room and plop right onto my bed. Do I like Max? Then I fall into a deep sleep.
