"So, how was the trip?" Janine questioned me as we were seated in the dining room, waiting for the rest of them to come join us before we ate. Only a handful of people lived in the Pack House, the Alpha family, five young warriors and their mates who were yet to start a family, as well as a few young werewolves who didn't have a place to stay as they were trying to get back on their feet from injuries or being orphan and such.
"It was good" I spoke, arranging the food on the table after what I liked the most, something that always would make Janine laugh, and Christian to tease me if he was around.
"I have already understood it was good, but I need details!" Janine joked on the other side of me.
"There's not much to tell, I traveled, I took pictures" I laughed at my poor excuse of a reply, not exactly wanting to tell her everything I did, as I was sure the words would spread and reach Christians ears. I knew if that happened, both I and Magnus would be dead in a heartbeat.
"Not much to tell?" She said, amusement clear in her eyes as her eyebrows raised high onto her forehead. She bent over the table, bringing her face close to mine, as her eyes grew wide whilst whispering loudly, "you got married!"
"Shhh!" I shush her, my hand reaching over her mouth, staring at her with wide eyes, a grimace displayed on my entire mouth as I whisper loudly too, "I don't want people to know!"
"You sure theres not a special someone you don't want to know?" Janine teases, her finger pointing me out as guilty. My cheeks flushed a bright red as I swat her finger away, slightly terrified at what she's implying. I shush her, before rearranging my fork, bringing it slightly closer to my plate.
My Mate.
I hadn't seen him since a few days before I left the Pack House, which was now three years ago. Janine knew I had a mate before I left, her being the only one except my mate himself who knew. My stomach tightened as my mind wandered throughout many scenarios, in which Kent had found someone else. The thought alone was enough to make me feel sick, make me feel as though I would fall apart by my seams.
Christian strides through the door, the rest of the wolves living in the Pack House following him by his toes. He sits down next to Janine, his shirt wierdly matching her yellow sundress. I give him a strange look, not used to seeing my brother in a Hawaii t-shirt.
"Where's Magnus? Janine asked after everyone had placed themselves on a chair whilst she searches the room for him.
"Oh, eh, he wasn't hungry". It was true, well, at least that's what he had said once I told him I was going downstairs and help Janine with the food. Although, it wasn't so much help as it was sitting there, rambling on about my favourite tv-show, explaining every little detail of the plot. Janine hadn't seem to mind though, only smiling whilst listening to me speak.
"Too bad he didn't get to taste my stake then" Janine smiled as she spoke, cutting herself a small piece before taking a bite. I, however, already gave my mouth full of the delicious food she makes, and can inly manage to shakw my head before swalling half of it.
"Nope, not too bad, more like too good" I speak as I take another bite, my hunger for her food making me throw ny head back in pure bliss. "God, this is heavanly".
Throughout the dinner, I made Smalltalk with some of the people there, sticking mainly tovthe younger wolves as they were a lot nicer. They were all curious to know what Magnus and I had been up to, but I gave them all the same answer I had given Janine earlier. I was too terrified to tell anyone of my escapades til the top of K2 and bungee jumping in Bali. I knew that if Christian would find out, he would chain me to the couch and he wouldn't even consider the thought of not killing Magnus. He had, after all, allowed me to do what I wanted whilst he went out golfing.
I smiled a little, the memory of the first time he asked me to go golfing, recalling how I had whined incredibly, him laughing in response before grabbing my hand, almost dragging me into the car. Magnus had managed to hit a poor squirrel lying on the road on the way there, something I had continuously teased him for.
"You here?" Janine waved her hand in front of my face, her hair now pulled into a short ponytail, her hair much shorter than what I remembered. "You spaced for a se-"
"Have you cut your hair?" I blurted whilst creasing my eyebrows questionably. "I'm not sure I like it. It's weird. Has it been like that all the time?"
Christian growled from the other side of the table, now sipping a cup of what smelled like a cappuccino. I drank in the heavenly smell, taking my time to savour it.
"Watch it."
"It's been like that since before you came back, yes" Janine tried to brush it off with a laugh, almost sounding a little awkward as she pressed her hands to Christians shoulder. "It's fine, Chris, I like it. That's what's important".
"Yes, Chris. That's what's important" I mocked him l, an amused smile playing on my lips as I watched him strain himself. His jaw was clenched, his teeth probably hurting from how hard he was biting down.
"So, what do we do now?" I asked as I crashed my hands against the table, making Janine jump. "I vote for a girls night, or better yet, Janine-and-me night."
"I" Christian said shortly, before continuing; "And no. She's already got plans tonight". He pulled her down onto his lap as he spoke, not wasting a second before pressing his lips to her neck.
"Ew" I screamed. Standing up, I pointed my finger accusingly on the pair. "I would never have needed to know that. You're disgusting! This is eye-rape or something!"
Christian didn't reply, nor did Janine. Instead, of being ripped of my last piece of innocence from my brother, I began to rush out of the kitchen, and up the stairs. Humming to one of my favourite songs, I jumped up the last set of stairs.
Before I even knew it myself, my face hit a hard red surface of sorts and my entire body flew down the stairs. I was sure I could see my life pass by me. My eyes closed as I brought my hands to a cross over my chest, readying myself for death.
Unfortunately, I was met with a worse fate as I could feel sparks throughout my entire body instead. Praying, I opened my eyes, much rather hoping to be dead than in the arms of the brown-eyed man looking down on me with a frown.

I hope you enjoyed the chapter! From now on, I'll start updating once a week. Sooo, keep your eyes open every tuesday! :)
I would love som feedback on this story as well! Do you like Magnus? I really like him, which makes it way too hard to ship Ariana with Kent instead, but I guess that's what makes a good story.. ;)
