"Want me to get Magnus?" The question made me look up at Kent with wide eyes. Guilt seeped through me when he spoke about Magnus, the poor man having been forgotten for the time being.
"Ari?" He still held my right hand,l with his left, but his other went to wave itself in front of my face.
"I just- I want to go to bed".
"Okay, then we'll do that" his hand left mine now, leaving me feeling almost as empty as I had been feeling earlier. His muscly arms began work on the barrier he had created by the door before we ate, straining as he removed the chairs and the table.
I couldn't move, not really. Something inside my head made me feel so heavy, as if every limb I had were sleeping, too tired from all the work I had put them through, though to be honest, the only work I had been doing lately was to sit up in bed.
"Walk?" Kent's voice asked warmly, he was suddenly standing right in front of me, crouching as he stared into my eyes. I nodded, replying and gently felt his hand reach for mine once more.
Blushing, I followed him out into the hallway, staring at his back as he began to walk us up the stairs. My heart raced at the sight of his hand enclosed around mine, leading me throughout the house.
Being to caught up in staring at the muscles moving on Kent's back, I missed a step. My foot caught on the underside of the step making me fall face-first onto the staircase. My hand was still enclosed in Kent's, giving him a tug when I was falling, therefore almost dragging him down with me.
Kent, though being almost dragged backwords, down the stairs with me, managed to stand his ground. As he did so, he managed to pull me up too, my face just missing the edge of the step.
His hand was suddenly not holding mine anymore, now pulling me into him by my shoulders. Arms wrapped around me, his hands soon resting on my back as he hugged me protectively.
"You okay?" He whispered into my ear as I rested my head on his chest, feeling safer than I had ever felt before.
"Yeah" my voice still weak, now also affected by the situation we recently had found ourselves in. I was desperately trying to catch my own breath too, having lost it as soon as I lost my footing, then again, when Kent's hand left mine, and another when he again wrapped me in his arms.
Releasing me, Kent began to walk us up the stairs again, although this time, I walked first. Blushing like crazy, I walked with him in tow, his hand steady on my back.

Knocking pulled me out off my thoughts, and sighing, I went to open the door to my room. Kent had left me an hour ago, having paperwork to attend as the Alpha's right hand.
I still felt heavy, as if my brain couldn't comprehend half of the things happening around me as my feet padded lightly towards the door. Closing my hand around the door-handle, I pulled it open, frowning at the sight of the slightly destroyed door. Kent hadn't used all too much might when he burst through the door earlier, but the door's side had frayed, pieces of it falling off, therefore, I could both see, smell and hear Magnus behind the door.
"Hi" I muttered, and Magnus immediately moved, burying me in his arms making me smile, as I inhaled his scent. Most guys I hung around were werewolves, always smelling like the woods and earthy, but this guy, Magnus, was human. Magnus smelled like the paper of the books he read, and like the sea we had jumped into when we first met.
"How are you?" He asked, his hand stroking through my hair. The action calmed me and my thoughts somewhat, even through his pacing feet. We may have stood still on the floor, but he still moved his feet frequently, a habit I had come to learn.
