Chapter 14

* Back to Clem's POV *

I was bored out of my mind. Kylah and Luke were gone so, there goes my entertainment. Alex has been taking care of Jack all day and I'm depressingly watching for the door to open, signaling Kimi, Luke and Kylah's arrival.

I was rested on the couch messing around with a rubix cube Luke had found for me on one of his outings. I couldn't seem to fit anything together so, I decided to check up on Jack and Alex.

I forced myself off the now comfortable couch that I had been sitting on for hours and made my way to their bedroom door.

I cracked the door open to see a sleeping Jack and Alex.

"Great.." I mumbled to myself as I shut the door.

I plopped myself back on the couch. Picking up the rubix cube once more.

Great job watching me, Alex..wait. I don't need anyone to watch me. I'm 12.

I rushed into my room, grabbing my backpack that was near my bed.

I made my way to the front door as I put my backpack on my back.

"Time for a walk.." I said quietly before walking out of the door.

* Kylah's POV *

We continued to walk, Luke, Kimi and I.

Kimi was in front of us, me and Luke walking side by side. His arm was near my back, like he was going to have to push me out of the way due to something.

"I'm a bit worried about Clem" I said for the millionth time.

This is the first time I have left Clementine alone in the hands of a Alex. I was paranoid to say the least.

"She'll be fine. She's a strong girl" Kimi assured me, Luke nodding in agreement.

I continued to bite my nails as we walked. I didn't want anything happening to the poor thing. There's so many things in this world that can grab her and swoop her out of her life.

"She's fine" Luke suddenly told me, rubbing my back and smiling.

I smiled back at him.

"Hey look..a cabin" Luke said, looking north.

"It kind of looks like a ski resort" Kimi said, looking at it herself.

She was right, it did.

"It has to have a shit ton of food if it's a resort!" Kimi exclaimed.

She suddenly ran off, toward the hill the resort rested on.

Luke suddenly put me on his back, causing me to giggle. He began running after Kimi.

We all walked up the cabin, tired from the walk up the hill. I convinced Luke to take me off his back about mid-hill so, he didn't injure himself or something..

"Who wants to go in?" Kimi asked.

"I will" Luke said, making his way to the door.

"Be careful.." I said quietly.

He heard me and turned around, flashing my an adorable smile. I found myself blushing.

Me and Kimi stood outside to wait for the 'all clear' signal.

But instead, we heard a scream. Luke's scream. We both ran inside to find Luke wrestling a walker.

"Luke!" I yelled.

I ran over to him, pulling my knife out in the process. I began to hear gunshots behind me.

I quickly stabbed the walker in the head, resulting in blood splashing on Luke's face and shirt.

He laid, letting me examine his body for scratches or bites. Luck for the both of us, I found none.

"Jesus Luke.." I said, wrapping my arms around his neck, nestling my head in his neck.

"I'm fine..I'm fine.." he mumbled, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"I think that's all of them.." Kimi said, breathing heavy.

"Let's start collecting"

It was almost sunset when we reached the house. It looked like it was going to rain so, I was happy we all 3 made it back.

I opened the door, expecting Clementine to be in the living room.

I set my backpack on one of the couches.

"Clem? Clem?! CLEMENTINE?!" I began to yell.

I ran into the room she stayed in with Luke and I, to find her backpack gone.

I burst into Jack and Alex's room.

"Where is she?!?" I yelled at Alex, him being in charge of her. I was on the verge of tears.

"Who?" he asked, looking confused.

"Clementine! The girl you were looking after!" I screamed in response.

"Shit..I-I don't know" he replied.

I let the tears run down my face.

Luke and Kimi rushed into the room.

"Where's Clem?!" Luke asked.

"I don't know.." I heard Alex say.

I soon felt an arm around my shoulder.

"It's too late to get her now.." Jack said quietly.

* Luke's POV *

I was snuggled up next to a sleeping Kylah. She eventually feel asleep due to all the crying.

I felt horrible for her and I was hurt too, knowing whats out there.

I played with her soft hair trying to think of the best possible solution, so I didn't have to see Kylah in pain.

But I was afraid what I wished for, wouldn't come true.
