Troye's pov
"Promise you'll be okay?"
"I promise, just go. You're needed elsewhere." I groan, hiding my face under his blankie and trying to go back to sleep.
It's too early to be awake.
After Jay got me hooked on a new and improved sleeping schedule and too many pills to keep up with, I've gotten used to waking up at nine am and going to sleep around eleven pm. I'm living the lavish life. It must be around five am that he woke me up pacing around and muttering that he had to go. Something about trouble at work, his words were all jumbled out and barely coherent.
I hear him pat his feet back over to me, "Are you sure?"
I peek my head out of the blankie, my curls covering most of my view. Nodding, I yawn and wave him off.
"I'm sure, I think I might sleep in today if that's okay with you." I murmur sleepily.
He nods, "That's okay, sleep all day if you want to. I set your pills on the nightstand, make sure you take them by noon. There's a home phone in the kitchen with my number taped to it if you need me. No leaving and no calls to others, alright?"
I brush my hair back out of my eyes with my fingers and yawn again, my ears ringing a bit.
"Okay, I'm tirrreeed." I whisper, tossing my head to the side and looking out at the still dark sky shown through the window.
"Alright, get some sleep. I'll be back by tonight, I promise." He steps forward and moves my curls back a bit more to kiss my forehead. My cheeks go hot as the rest of my body does, I nod and shimmy back down under the blankie until just my hair is poking out.
"G'night," I croak, feeling my eyes shut and body relax back into its sleepy state.
He sighs and with the sound of the window opening and closing, a hit to the ground, and a kick to a bin, I'm sure he's gone. I hold my hands out by impulse and fall back to sleep, a warm tingly feeling spread to my toes as I dose off.

Jacob's pov
Rushing into my main office, an underground fortress some may call it, I shoot every last bloke and woman in there daggers of anger. They fucked up.
"Where is he?" I ask through a jaw clenched so tight my teeth grit together.
Lisa, one of my runners, sinks back upon my presence.
"Finn put him in the back room... He's hysterical." She looks down in shame, fumbling with her fingers.
"Send the rest of the runners back now. Everyone." I order, snapping my fingers and pacing to our abandoned storage room. We use it to hold our own instead of putting them in the dungeon with the others. Most of ours are far too loyal and close to our hearts to be locked away and tortured there. Avery though, he's better off dead to me.
Upon arriving at the door, two of my guards are stood there with guns at hand.
They look to me and step to the side in seconds, bowing their heads down.
"Sir." They speak quietly, their voices hushed.
"No one comes in, got it?" I question, my strong glare boring into them.
"Yes sir."
I unlock the door and step in, slamming it shut behind myself. Taking in the horrific looking room, I cringe a bit at the smell. When's the last time someone cleaned in here?
My eyes averting to the beaten, bloody, and sobbing Avery, I drop my glare a bit. I pull a chair up to him and sigh, sitting with the back of it pressed against my chest.
