CHAPTER 6.

JAMIE'S POV.

"Chase!" I exclaimed, throwing myself at my younger brother as he walked into the room smiling.

"Whoa, Jamie!" he laughed stumbling back.

"Careful kitty, you'll send him back to the infirmary if you hug him that hard." Aiden smiled. I blushed at his pet name for me and attempted to ignore him, but he wrapped an arm around me and pulled me close.

Will rushed up looking concerned. He began checking Chase all over for remaining injuries. "You're ok," he sighed. Then he whacked his arm hard.

"Ow!" Chase squealed, hiding behind me.

"What the hell were you thinking, Chase!" He demanded. "You're only 15 you can't just rush into battle like a maniac!"

"He's got a good point Chasey." I scolded.

He lowered his eyes and looked guilty. "I know, I know, I'm sorry..." he looked at us sheepishly, "I just wanted to help."

"Aw," Raffi cooed, roughing up his hair.

He ducked away from her and winced.

Worry immediately dropped in my stomach like a stone- "Chase, what's wrong?"

The door opened and Julien stepped in with a bottle of painkillers. "He's got some wounds that will hurt or a while yet, but if he takes these then he probably won't feel so bad. "

Will frowned. "Shouldn't he heal really quickly because he's an Ailuranthrope?" He asked.

Julien sighed. "He should- but these wounds were different because they were inflicted by vampires."

"Vampires?" Chase asked uncertainly. "I- they're real?"

"Oh they're real alright." A woman's voice growled, entering the room. "And they're vile, evil, cold hearted killers."

We all turned to see a woman with shoulder-long blonde hair and fiery dark brown- almost black- eyes. She was stood with her hands clenched into tight fists, next to a tall man. The man also had brown hair and dark navy eyes that seemed so familiar.

"Ma-" Aiden began.

"No Aiden." The woman growled. She's his mother?!

'That man must be his father- they don't half look alike' Leona whispered in awe of the furious woman.

She stepped forward and put a hand on Aiden's shoulder. "Vampires are horrid creatures who shouldn't live."

"Luce-" Aiden's father pulled her close. "You know what happened wasn't because he was a vampire."

The room was filled with a thick, pregnant silence. She glared hard at Aiden's father before leaving the room, tears brimming with tears.

The father sighed, and then turned to my brothers and I. "You must be Jamie?"

I nodded shyly, fiddling with me fingers and inching behind Aiden a bit.

Aiden grinned. "Yeah Dad, this is Jamie. " He gestured to my brothers. "These guys are her brothers, William and Chase."

"Hello, Mr Willows." I smiled politely.

He grinned, looking almost exactly like Aiden. "Call me Edmund!"

"Hey Ed!" Chase smirked.

"I'm going to check on ma." Aiden excused himself and followed where his mother went.
