(Shane POV)

Joeys asleep but I can tell he’s suffering. I really need to get him back to LA to see the doctor.

-Lisa Phone Call-

Shane: Hey

Lisa: Did you find him?

Shane: Of course. I love him.

Lisa: I know you do. I’m so happy for you!

Shane: He’s going through withdrawal.

Lisa: W-what?

Shane: He was on drugs.

Lisa: Oh my god!

Shane: It was all Luke. He drugged and kidnapped him.

Lisa: That’s terrible!

Shane: He doesn’t look good. I know that he needs a doctor, but I just don’t want to take him in a random place. He has to be in LA. It’s where he feels safe.

Lisa: I understand. I have to go. My boss will kill me if I don’t get back to work.

Shane: You got a job?

Lisa: Youtube wasn’t my thing I guess. My fans are really upset but I can’t help that. My new job is great.

Shane: Where do you work?

Lisa: LynTics. We are a leading company that researches in Science. I’m just in the office portion though.

Shane: Good for you. I’m glad you found something you enjoy.

Lisa: I’ll see you soon. Bye.

-End-

Joey is extremely pale.

*12 hours later*

Shane: Joey, wake up.

He groans.

Joey: How long was I asleep?

Shane: Almost 13 hours.

Joey: Where are we?

Shane: At a Hospital. They’re going to do some tests. You’ll be fine. I’ll be in the waiting room until they finish.

Joey: Fine…

(Joey POV)

They put me into this machine that scans my body and makes sure there isn’t any long term damage. Next, they do blood tests. Eventually, the doctor comes back with the results.

Doctor: I’m Doctor Allan Rilyn.

Joey: Nice to meet you.

Allan: We have some good news and some bad news. I really want to give you the good news first. It may seem odd but I think it is necessary. First off, the drugs will have no long term effects on you. You’ll be fine within a few weeks.

Joey: That’s great! What’s so bad?

Allan: Okay. Well, during the MRI scan, we detected that tissue in your lungs were infected.

Joey: Infected how?

Allan: Have you had trouble breathing ever?

Joey: Well, yes. I thought it was the lead paint I accidentally consumed as a child. It started when I was about 19.

Allan: Well, it’s not that.

Joey: Just tell me what’s wrong.

Allan: There’s no easy way to put this. You have Stage I Lung Cancer.

My hearts sinks right then and there. I can’t believe this…

Allan: Another set of good news is that you have a good chance of beating this. You aren’t that far along and the rest of your body is in great shape. You seem to know how to take care of yourself.

Joey: What’s going to happen?

Allan: I believe we can do one surgery to remove the infected portion of the lung and then do one round of chemotherapy.

Joey: When can this be done? I really don’t want Shane to know about this.

Allan: Is Shane your boyfriend?

Joey: Yes…

Allan: Where do your parents live?

Joey: Boston.

Allan: Great. You can say you’re going to visit your parents while you’re actually getting your surgery and then the chemo.

Joey: Will my hair fall out!?

Allan: We’re not going to give you that strong of a dose. You’ll look the same. Just not one your chest. You’ll have a scar.

Joey: So Shane will find out eventually…

Allan: I’m afraid so. Sorry. You may leave if you like. Just remember to call and set up the appointment.

Joey: Alright, thanks…

I feel awful. How will I tell Shane? Will he still love me?
