Part 16~ Saying goodbye

BRADS POV:
I looked back at kate as she lifted up her suitcase from the floor
B:You ready
She smiled widely before grabbing my hand and following me to the front garden

KATIES POV:
As brad opened the car boot I could hear sudden footsteps behind me

Mum:Kate?
Confused I widened my eyes as I thought I heard my mums voice, at first I was pretty sure I was hearing things, but brads reaction said it all

Mum:Katie, where are you going?
I looked at brad as he nodded slightly, I could feel my heart beat out of my chest as I turned to face her

K:mum!, I wasn't expecting you
Her eyes were all red and she looked like she hadn't slept in days, part of me wanted to hug her but I stayed close next to brad
Mum:What's brad doing here?, I thought he went back with Derek
K:No mum, brad stayed with me

I grabbed his hand tightly as she crossed her eyebrows in confusion
Mum:I'm confused, are you two living here alone or?
B:Yeah, we've taken care of everything
I looked at the bags beneath her feet as she swallowed hardly

Mum:Going somewhere nice?
K:Yeah, a friends holiday
Mum:So, you two are friends or?
She looked down at our hands as I looked up at brads slight smile

K:No, uh actually...
there was a long pause as she listened carefully
K:Brads my boyfriend
I could almost feel her heart sink as she looked at us in shock
Mum:But, that wouldn't work, you two were like siblings?
K:But were not anymore mum, you and Derek split, remember
Mum:Well for how long?

B:Since a few days after we met, officially since the concert
Shaking her head she stepped back slowly
Mum:Why didn't you tell me?
K:Because I was afraid of this reaction, a few days ago I would of cared but I love brad, and it doesn't matter if we're strangers, siblings or cousins I still love him, and I always will
I looked up at his warm smile as he held my hand tighter

Mum:I... I can't get my head around this
K:Well luckily you don't have too
I slammed the car boot shut and walked towards the car door at the front
K:Bye mum

She looked confused and shocked at the same time as we both closed the doors of his car
B:Are you sure your ready?
K:I have never been more ready

His smirk grew on my face as he drove past my house, past my mum, past my entire life

CATS POV:
I stroked the make up brush across my cheek when the door knocked loudly
C:Coming

I opened it slowly to see Connor standing in the doorway
C:Hey... sorry I wasn't expecting you
He didn't even speak as I closed the door behind him
C:Have you heard from kate or brad? Neither of them are answering there phones
Shaking his head slightly he sat down on the corner of my sofa

Connor:Cat, i just came to clear things
Confused I looked up at his sad expression
C:What do you mean?
Connor:Well, I know you still love jack, and I know your happy together, I really like you cat but, I'm not ruining a perfect relationship
I smiled thankfully
C:Thank you con, I wanted to speak to you about it earlier but I never got round to it
He nodded slowly standing up before me

Connor:Anyway, now this is off my mind I can finally go and record a song
I widened my eyes excitedly
C:Can't wait to hear them, they will be amazing
He smiled widely and pulled me in for a hug
Connor:Friends?
C:Always
As his warm embrace came to an end I followed him towards the door
Connor:I'll catch you later, maybe we could all meet up soon?
C:Yeah... id like that
