Chapter 22

*ALLIE'S POV*

I flickered my eyes open and then heard a similar voice say,

"She's awake! Kian, Lidia she's awake!" Sam. That was a horrible dream. Not even a dream a nightmare.

"W-what happened?" I asked weakly. Once I got a clearer vision I saw Lidia, Kian, and Sam with tears streaming down their faces.

"Mom... Lidia-" Kian started.

"So it wasn't a dream." I felt the tears run down my cheeks as Kian nodded his head slowly and Lidia looked at her still kind of flat stomach.

"No. No, no, no, no."

"Allie calm down."

"HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CALM DOWN!? MOM'S DEAD AND LIDIA'S PREGNANT. YOU EXPECT ME TO CALM THE FUCK DOWN!" I couldn't hold the anger I had. I can't do this. My mom was the best person I could ever have in my life and now she's gone.

She's gone.

....

After a lot of sobbing and calming down, I finally decided I wanted to go home.

I laid down in my bed unable to be active whatsoever. I was so beat down I couldn't even check my phone all I did was get in the covers and stared at the ceiling.

"Allie? Allie? Al- oh there you are. Do you want anything to eat?" Out of the corner of my eye I saw Lidia her eyes still a bit red. "Allie please. You need to eat." She sat at the corner of my bed. "I know today was really hard. I know. But please at least talk to me." I looked at her for a split second as she had hope in her eyes, but I couldn't. I can't. "Well if you change your mind I'll be in the guest room. Oh hey Sam."

"Hey Allie. Mind if I join?" I nodded weakly. Sam took off his shoes and got in the covers with me, wrapping his arms around me.

"She's gone." I started to sob weakly. I was so weak.

"I know babe. But I want you to know that I'm here for you. We're all here for you. And we don't want you to be like this. Yes, I know it's hard, but you can't be like this. It makes me worry too much. Let's get you showered, dressed, and ready. And we can go to TacoBell or wherever you want." Sam was the sweetest, but he was right. Today was really hard but I can't just move on like that. I need at least a day.

"How 'bout tomorrow?" I tried to smile.

"Sounds good." He smiled a fake smile. I know he was hurting about as much as I was. "Now you should get some sleep. I should be going." As he was about to get out of my bed until I grabbed his arm.

"Please. Stay." I tried to get words out. Sam nodded and got back into his position. I was laying down in the arms of Sam Pottorff, my boyfriend. The boy I have known for years, the boy I feel protected with, and the boy I love.
