East barely had sleep the entire night replaying all the harsh words Nicole lashed out at him. It hurt deeply but East knew she was keeping up a front of coldness but deep inside she was still that sweet, loving girl that stole his heart. He just had to be patient with her. Allow her to release all the pain and maybe little by little he can finally crumble the wall she had built around herself.
The day was as warm and sunny. It was going to be a beautiful day giving East positive vibes that all will go well today. He was still staying in a hotel but tomorrow he would have his condominium unit ready and some of his stuff coming from New York.
He dressed himself casually in his favorite light denim cotton long sleeves shirt and faded jeans. His lucky shirt. Hope it would bring him luck with Nicole today. He poured himself a glass of orange juice and was off. Breakfast could wait. Nicole said 9am sharp so East made sure he was early. He would be there a good one hour before just to play safe.
He had arrived at the Whitman Office building pretty early. He tried killing time with playing games on his cell phone. But 9am had come and gone still no sign of Nicole. Two hours had already passed it was spring yet the weather was hot almost like summer. The humidity making East sweat. To make matters worst his stomach was rumbling. He was starving not having had anything to eat except the juice. He wished he could have fetch some take out but he didn't want Nicole to suddenly leave without him. Another hour it was almost lunch time. She was literally punishing him. Patience East she'll show up. He tried to assure himself. Another hour no sign of Nicole. Just as he was about to decide to head back to his hotel in frustration. A familiar red Lexus was making it's way to the front building parking lot. It was Nicole. East felt all his impatience disappear. It was better late than never as he smiled widely at her trying to appear cheerful even if he had waited for her for 4 hours and his stomach was hurting from hunger.
The first thing Nicole noticed was the expression of East looking so cheerful even if she made him wait for 4 hours. His face tanned from the heat giving his cheeks a ruddy look. He looked so good she thought. In his light denim cotton shirt rolled up to the elbows. His shirt emphasized more his broad shoulders even outlining his muscled chest brought all sorts of kinky thoughts in her mind. Even his fitted faded jeans hugged his 6'2 frame completely. His hair was brushed up his dark brown hair meshed with golden flecks was rumpled by the wind made him a sight girls would die for. Nicole was enjoying feasting her eyes on him but she was not going to admit that. Instead her attitude was cold and business like. She also didn't bother to apologize for her lateness which made her feel so guilty inside.
Well get in we haven't got all day. The faster we get this thing over with the better. she snapped.
East smile faded. He didn't say anything but the look he gave her made her feel ashamed of herself. She was the bad one here he made him wait for so many hours and she was acting that way instead. She heard him sigh out loud in exasperation.
What was that for? she cried irritably.
I didn't say anything. East said. I just sighed. Is there something wrong with that? Nicole could see he was starting to get irritated. Let him!
There was silence in the car as he got in. An uncomfortable one but East managed a smile that touched her.
I was wondering maybe we can have something to eat first before we start. I wanted to be early to see you so I didn't take any breakfast. Honestly I'm really starving. I'm kind of hoping we can have lunch. A really nice place.
