FATE'S SECOND CHANCES

Chapter 27

          East went to the parking lot with half a mind replaying all the play acting Kevin was doing to Nicole even kissing her on the stage for the audience benefit or dancing with her awhile ago as if he was truly in love. Kevin never loved Nicole he was only using her for his own self benefit to merge two rich families together to make Whitman companies even more powerful. He had to stop this charade before Kevin could hurt her any further. East could not very well come barging on Nicole telling her about Kevin's infidelity. She was still learning to trust him little by little. But East knew he would try to earn back Nicole's full trust just to show her how much he loved her and that he would move heaven and earth to make her happy.

As if God was answering his prayers he heard a car alarm beep only surprise to see Kevin Whitman in a rush reaching his car. He looked in a state of hurry as if wanting to reach something on time. East observed him from afar getting this gut feeling to follow Kevin. He was not the type to come butting in on anyone's business. But if it would mean Nicole's happiness he was willing to take the risk.

East found himself following him putting a little distance between them. Kevin was not aware of his SUV as he tailed him. He drove fast almost speeding but East was not far behind. He was even driving on the outskirts of the main city where a mainstream of small hotels were present. East's heart was racing just as he could spot Kevin's car swerve into the Lakeview Inn. He had a strong hunch that this was it. This was enough evidence to finally tell Nicole the truth about the despicable thing Kevin Whitman was doing to her behind her back.

Lakeview Inn was inconspicuous enough before you can reach it's entrance you even had to go through a tunnel. Leave it to Kevin to cover his tracks well. East shook his head in disgust. He was still a safe distance from him but enough to see where he was headed. He was indeed entering the lobby of the cozy inn.

East followed after him parking a little further from him. Kevin was not in sight as East scanned quickly the place. He would not pass up this chance to catch him in the act.

He was still searching around the place for Kevin when from around a corner East could hear voices. Voices East distinctly knew laughing at something. It was Kevin and Sharon he could make them out in the dimly lit corner of the hotel locked in a heated kiss. This time East hid himself but he could hear every word they said.

She's so stupid that Nicole believing every business trip I've invented. For a very intelligent architect she can be so dumb. All I can think of was being in your arms darling having your lips on mine. Making love to you till we both pass out. Kevin uttered as Sharon unfastened his tie opening the buttons on his shirt and spreading kisses all over his chest.

Oh Kevin I love you. You know it pains me to see you two together. But I know its me you want and love. she said in a sultry voice.

I love you Sharon. You may see me with Nicole but it's you I love. I've never even love her after all these years. I'll just abide by my father's wishes and I'll divorce her and marry you. God how I want you. he said as he devoured Sharon's breasts with his tongue

East could only feel a deep anger inside him for Kevin. His fist was clenched into a tight ball waiting for the right moment to slam it right through his face. So that was their plan for Nicole. She had no idea that she was being used all the love Kevin had for him was for public display just to please his father.

East could see that both Kevin and Sharon were in the heat of passion almost wanting to tear their clothes off even in the inn's lobby with no cares in the world. Kevin's dress shirt was wide open his fly almost unzipped as Sharon was caressing with her tongue his chest. It was the perfect timing for East.

This time East came out in the open revealing himself. They were oblivious but as Kevin saw him he stopped mouth gaping open at East's disgusted belligerent face.

What are you doing here East? he exclaimed face drained of color as he stopped short pushing Sharon away who tried to cover herself.

I heard everything Kevin. You've never loved Nicole. You've been using her all these years for your own selfish ends. I've caught you many times with Sharon but I wanted more proof so I followed you here just to see for myself. I love Nicole Kevin with my own life and I will never allow you to hurt her in anyway! Over my dead body Kevin! I will move heaven and earth to stop this engagement before you hurt Nicole even further.

Kevin stood up facing him. And will Nicole believe you East? After what you've done to her? Don't you think I know about both your past! You think I'm so innocent about all this. I've done my research well East. You're the sinner East the bastard who broke her heart and tore it to pieces. She will never forgive you for that. While I will still marry her and shove it into your fucking face East.

This time filled with rage unimaginable East lunged for him socking him right on the face again and again even hitting his eyes feeling the greatest satisfaction at his bloodied face. East learned to fight the hard way just to survive the hardships he had been through.

Yes I'm the sinner East said angrily. But at least I begged for her forgiveness even if I didn't do a single thing to hurt her. But you asshole is a two timing bastard and I will let Nicole know what kind of man she is marrying. A two faced asshole who would only make her life miserable and cause her pain. I will never allow you to do that Kevin he shouted angrily causing people to look at them.

Kevin laughed devilishly. Let's see if she believes you East. You're words don't mean shit to her well mine does! And I will marry her East. I can't wait to have your heart ripped into shreds!

This time he spit blood his upper lip cut but his tone was ominous giving him threats shouting at him.

This is the end of your career East Kelly. You're fired and I will make sure no architectural firm will hire you. You can kiss your career goodbye. You can go back where you came from to that poor section of Harlem being a dish washer for the rest of your life. Or you can just shut up and forget this ever happened. Your silence East that's all I ask. Kevin threatened for the life of him.

But East was not scared. He could give all his threats but it didn't shake him one bit. He knew it was like to be poor. He was not afraid to go back to it. But to lose Nicole this one more time East could not bear even if he had to sacrifice himself in the process. Even if his career was on the line.

You don't scare me Kevin. You can do whatever you want with me. Ruin my career go ahead. But I will never keep this things from Nicole. I want her to be happy. I might not be the lucky guy she will accept but a guy in the future who would truly love her and want her to be happy. Unlike you Kevin. Why don't you just go marry your slut Sharon instead that ought to make you happy. Don't go messing around messing around with someone you don't love. And that's my Nicole so stay away from her! East shot back at him.

Go ahead do that East. Walk away from here and tell Nicole. I'll slam a million dollar lawsuit at you for hitting me. I'm going to destroy you and run you dry East Kelly. You can be sure about that. He glowered.

East could only scoff at him. I dare you go ahead you never scare me Kevin Whitman. The truth will prevail. I can only feel sorry for you. You've never had the balls to stand up for what you want letting your father rule your life. You've never had the balls to begin with!

Kevin turned an absolute white East words hitting him where he wanted to hurt him the most.

East left Kevin with his hands shaking uncontrollably. His thoughts were disoriented draining him completely. All he wanted was to go to Nicole and open her eyes to the inevitable truth. That Kevin was a cheating bastard proposing their engagement for his own selfish needs. Do you think Nicole will believe you East? The words of Kevin distorting his good thinking. She still wasn't fully trusting him he knew. But for the life of him he was going to make her see how miserable her life would be if she would end up with Kevin. She had got to believe him for once in her life.

This time East would give it all he's got to prove to her once and for all how much he loved her. How much he wanted her as his wife and most of all how he would beg for this second chance with her.
