East felt depressed as he went home. Replaying on his mind the heated exchange he had with Nicole. He wished he had been more patient with her. Didn't let his temper get in the way of things. They were even now at odds with each other. Here he was not even making any headway with her and now this. Just the thought made him even more unhappy. Maybe she had pushed him too far recalling how she kept on shouting at him in anger just because her designs were corrected. Nicole acted very immature like a spoiled brat with a one track mind. Even accusing him of lording over them making sure they knew who was boss. East in all his career achievements he had never shown any boastful bone in his body. He was always open to new ideas and suggestions even if he stand corrected. He had always treated everyone an equal remaining humble and down to earth in his ways. But this time Nicole pushed him too far. A person could only take so much. But for the sake of his love for her come Monday he would approve her plans. He would apologize even if it wasn't his fault just to make things alright between them. Even if he had to swallow his pride. He sighed. That's the best he could do as he struggled out of his clothes getting his tired body into bed feeling drowsiness take over.
East was awakened with the buzzing on his door. He grumbled feeling dizzy as he got out of bed getting his long sleeves shirt buttoning it unsuccessfully. What the hell! Whoever that person was on the door had to contend with him with his chest exposed.
Nicole was getting fidgety as he buzzed East's unit for the 6th time. She had his favorite chocolate caramel cake in tow and white roses. She wanted to overdo it with the flowers just to let him know how sorry she was.
Nicole wasn't prepared however for a half dressed East looking at her in surprise. He wore his long sleeves shirt haphazardly exposing his tanned taut chest. His muscles tight with a growth of curled chest hair mid section. He only had his boxers on exposing his hairy legs. She felt at a loss for words as she was practically gawking at him. The sight of him with his five o clock shadow on his cheeks and the disheveled hair brought all sorts of devilish thoughts in her head. He was downright sexy.
East fumbled with his shirt suddenly looking embarrassed. He was clumsy as he tried to button them hurriedly but failed considerably sighing in exasperation turning a bright shade of red.
Sorry about this I didn't expect company. I just came from bed. he apologized.
Nicole could only blush herself feeling like a high school girl who suddenly saw her crush as East ushered her in his living room. Her eyes swept over his place for a brief second liking the elegant furnishing set in chrome. The place was also very tidy which surprised Nicole considering East was quite a slob with regards to order.
They were still looking at each other feeling awkward. East's expression looked almost wary as if she would pounce on him again ready for a fight.
If you've come to yell me again. Save your strength. You win ok. You can do whatever you want. I'll sign my approval first thing Monday. he said being defensive all at once.
Nicole could only feel guilty at the way East reacted. She was a bad ass for treating him so badly. He didn't even deserve it one bit.
She tried to smile but it came out as a nervous laugh.
Actually I came here to give you something. A little peace offering. she said softly looking at him with an earnest look in her aqua blue eyes.
A little something for me from you? His voice softened as his eyes took in the box holding the cake and flowers too.
Actually I acted such a louse awhile ago. You know me sometimes. I get carried away. I like to give you the flowers first.
