" Oh come on Em, It will  be so much fun!" I exclaimed. I have been looking forward to this party all week. "All the graduates will be there" I cooed in hopes to convince her.

" Ugh! But you know I hate everyone" she muffled into a white pillow that she had grabbed off the floor.

"But you love me, your best friend so you have to go." I mocked as I took the pillow from her face looking at the fresh makeup stains. "you dirtied my pillow" I groaned as I smacked her head with it.

Shortly after eating two entire boxes of pizza by ourselves we decided it be best to start getting ready for the party since we like to take our time getting ready. It wasn't a casual party nor was it a super formal one either. We wore the same dresses we wore to our graduation earlier, simple a-line dresses. Emily's was a royal dark blue color and mine was a satin black one. Emily retouched her makeup and fixed her curls while I looked for more snacks to eat.

The party was being held at a neighboring packs pack house. Most packs aren't allowed to pass each others territory but since we have to share a school we have a treaty that allow us to cross through each others land. Emily didn't have the happiest face upon our arrival, But I know her little secret. The whole 'mean girl' charade Emily has going on is FAKE she actually loves being around people. We were greeted with "hello's" about a dozen of people came to hug and congratulate me for graduating and those same dozen simply waved at Emily not even bothering to congratulate her, she graduated too. It didn't really phase her if people were mean or nice to her. But it did bother me, if you're going to come over and take the time of day to say a couple words to me at least have the respect to acknowledge the person I am with.

I did not even notice that Emily was not by my side anymore until she linked me "I'm with the battle team". I smiled to myself thinking back at how she did not even want to accompany me but there she goes socializing with her team. I made my way to the dance floor to let loose. I was having fun, enjoying myself. Old classmates continuously attempted to pressure me into grinding on them but I simply smiled and waved them off. I happily continued to dance freely alone.

"Seraphina, such an honor to have you at my party." An all too familiar masculine voice startled me but shortly after realizing to who it belonged to, I relaxed. He came at me from the back, slowly pinning his body towards mine.

I continued to dance to the beat of the music "Well thank you for inviting me to your Graduation party, Peter." I shouted over the music. I turned around so that I could face him. Peter became in sync to my moves as he grabbed me by my waist pushing our bodies closer to one another. He is the son of the Alpha of this pack and is going to take his fathers position next full moon. He's going to make such an amazing Alpha, he's kind, strong, and genuine. I am beyond proud and happy for him.

"Well if I do remember correctly you graduated too. This is our party." his voice shouted through the loud music. If this is  truly OUR  party then why did he refer to it as his party in the beginning? But I smiled at his sweetness. "Let's go for a walk. I would like to talk to you but it is too loud and crowded in here." I slowly nodded my head in agreement. I have seen these things in human movies where they leave the party and get killed, we are obviously not going to get killed but you know it is funny to think about scenarios that could possibly happen. He grabbed my hand, interlocking our fingers and pulled us through the crowd. We were easily making our way out but we were continuously getting stopped by members from our packs to greet us and congratulate us.

Outside I enjoyed the smell of fresh pine trees and moist grass that the air was blowing. We peacefully walked further into the forest, I did not have a single ounce of fear in my body. I knew this part of the forest like the back of my hand. We were walking at a comfortable slow pace when he asked me if I was cold. He stopped walking and turned his body to face me as he waited for my response. I unintentionally laughed. I instantly regretted it when his face turned tomato red.

"Oh, No. No! I'm so sorry, I simply thought you were joking. We are wolves, we do not get cold remember?" I felt terrible. I had embarrassed him when he was only trying to be nice, it truly was not my intention to hurt his feelings or embarrass him in any way.

"You just make me nervous. To be honest I saw this in a movie. The guy hands the girl his jacket and they live happily ever after" he looked down as he picked up his pace going faster, I too picked up my pace in hopes to catch up.

"That was real sweet of you Peter. Thank You for the kind gesture." Moments of silence passed but it was not an awkward silence. We were walking in sync our fingers occasionally brushed until he finally interlocked them.

There was a peaceful silence between us,  I could hear the owl howls, the stream flowing, the wolves howling from the distance and most importantly his heart beating. It was truly a beautiful scene.

"Seraphina I have been holding this in for years." Peter broke our silence. "I am just going to say it and I do not care what you have to say about it. Well, I do I care about your response a lot actually but whatever I am just going to say it. I like you. Like  I really, really, really like you. As cliche as it sounds you are different compared to all the other she wolfs I have met. We have known each other since we were careless pups. I have not been able to forget the day when I first met you. You came with your dad to pick up some papers for your pack. You were wearing a yellow summer dress with pink flowers and you had your hair in a high ponytail with a big fat pink bow on it. Since that day that I first laid my eyes on you I wanted to fast forward time and be be at age already so that I could find my mate. Between us I hoped it was you, I hoped and dreamt that you were my other half. When I finally became of age and discovered that you were not my mate, I was crushed. I still hoped that for whatever reason there was a mistake. So for you I tried to be a better person, I want to be a good Alpha. I don't care that you're not my mate, I still want you to be mine.  You are all that I want and need. What do you say? " I was completely touched by his words but I was not surprised. I knew there was something between us.

The change of atmosphere was drastic, my wolf was pounding my skin to come out. I noticed that Peter  was feeling the same thing as he held a distress face. His previous words had completely vanished from my head. "What is going on?" he asked as if I knew, however I think I did.

"We're on another territory, we need to get out of here! Hurry, before someone finds us." I whispered. I was completely distracted. I looked at my surroundings and everything was so unfamiliar. Now I was terrified. I have never passed mine or peter's territory. I began to panic. Peter told me he had linked someone to come find us but that it would take a couple of minutes to catch our scents. He told me to relax, and to quietly but quickly start walking back.

The floor began to rumble, the trees began to shake, branches were falling from the old trees. This was normal to me, I was just scared to find out who was causing this. I began to run. Peter and I had accidentally separated. He ran south and I ran east. He told me to follow him but I could not.  My gut and heart were pulling me somewhere else.

I quickly slipped off my heels so that I could run faster and so that I would not fall. 'Thump. Thump. Thump." My heart was beating faster and faster per each second as I ran faster and faster. I was debating on letting Autumn come out so that she can save me but it was too late.

A growl erupted through the forest causing the sleeping birds to fly behind me. I stopped on my tracks realizing that the entire time I was not running away from it but this entire time I was running to it. I was running to him. I heard the transition happen. Minutes after a figure appeared from the shadows, it was a man. A beautiful man. I felt things I didn't know were possible, the unaware void in me was now filled. The missing puzzle piece was found.  My fear was washed away and replaced with lust. There was a magnetic pull between both of us yet we were both frozen unable to move.

"My half."
