Tell you what--this maybe was the best choice I would ever make!

One, it was a chance--very rare!--to see Mom without her maid outfit, and when I could hear her referring to me by name, as she should have been all this years.

Second, her presence was a good substitute to my longing desire to be with Tou-sama--that current beehive of power.

And, well... it's kinda reliving my baby years--minus the bed-time stories.

"Ahh... missed you too, Kaa-sama..."

That is a formal, shortened reference to one's mom.

...I can't remember if I actually said that in my sleep, but... I heard whispers, then a soft smacking sound somewhere in my head. And I felt a bit warmer.

The next day, Rias' team stood shoulder to shoulder before us--my grandparents, myself, maid-mode Mom, and some other servants wishing to see them off. Auntie was saying the farewells.

"...you're going back already..?"

Like, I FORGOT ABOUT THIS!!

"...I'm very sorry, Millicas, but yes, we do." With a smile.

Crap, that is warming, but... you liar! 'Drop by before the party', huh?

"But... you just got here!"

Picture a child clasping his hands, with teary eyes, in front of his favorite toy in display.

One of the maids tapped me by the shoulder.

"Lady Rias has many jobs. We couldn't be greedy in keeping her to ourselves."

Issei was deadly surprised. Auntie, meantime, closed her eyes, still smiling.

The boy was clothed in black, but his skin's fair, and the eyes dark blue. He's standing a bit away from me...

"Hey there! Are you... okay?"

As I approached, I saw that his cheeks are still flushed with fever.

"You're not... supposed to be here."

"...just want to thank you."

"Sweet. Hold on to me, now."

"...where we going?"

"To my room. You must rest. We could talk there too, if you want."

I'm quite aware that everyone there was watching, but so what?
