...Okay, a new situation..?

"...Milli? You look... pale. Are you sure you're fit enough to talk this out?"

Uwah. Somehow I got the notion that something unpleasant had been brewing here.

"Apologies, Grandmom," the usual bow, "but I was not precisely seeking a talk with you. It's for Uncle I've came."

"Me?" he raised an eyebrow, "and why, kiddo?"

"Sorry for making you worry back there."

"Well I did, but I see you up now, so... got nothing ta worry anymore, right? Take the rest of today off if ya like. Won't be leaving soon."

"And why?"

"Like I said, nothing to do around that sassy old man. Mother's got someone to look after her."

"Does this mean you'll be staying long?"

"Well," he rubbed the bridge of his nose with a finger, "not long in the sense of forever, though. Just... not in a day or two."

"Then I hope you'll enjoy being with us." I bowed again.

"...Polite as usual, kiddo. Thanks."

"Grandmom, may I take leave?"

"You may."

"I might as well, Aunt Vene. See you."

*Venelana POV

...And besides, I have something more important at hand than to bother with your salutes, Grandson.

This would be the first time someone had actually questioned my internal authority in the clan. Not even Zeo had done that.

And this from one amongst my own family...

Make no mistake. Authority's one of the chief reasons why we managed to get this far.

Some of you might remember how Rias was to marry Riser of the Phoenix Clan. He was of Pure-blood Devil lineage, and a member of the clan with the power of apparent immortality. Indeed Sirzechs had had a significant hand in that.

But then the Phoenix got beaten, and the engagement ultimately broken off. This was the first time I take note of the Sekiryuutei.

The second was when I met him personally, along with the rest of Rias' group, when Zeo invited them to our residence. I even offered him dancing lessons during one of Milli's tutorial sessions, to better groom him.

Then again, at the theater. I urged Rias to take the matter of finding a husband more seriously, since she already is of an age to enter college. At this rate, the Gremory line is not yet fully secure.

Having just Millicas is, politically, not enough. He'd be attached to the title of being 'the Maou's son' for as long as his father may reign. There seems to be little way to change that. Instead, we will need a fully 'Gremory' offspring; and that could only be obtained through Rias.

Sairaorg's remark was but a ripple in this vital matter of inheritance, though it did irritate me.

Getting beaten by a pure pervert serves you right...

Now then, there is this issue of finding the suitable husband. Rias would not listen to any fixed marriage, so maybe this time I'll try and let her have a hand... although, if it's up to me again, I'd definitely put my attention towards whoever could best my grandson.
