Chapter 22

Ate Tara and I got home by ourselves after the small incident at the airport. I can't believe he had the guts!

"It's okay, my famous sister." Ate joked as she hold her phone, scrolling through her twitter timeline and eventually, I was everywhere.

"Ugh, Ate, don't call me that." I said disgustingly.

"You're seriously everywhere." She said. Too focused on looking at her timeline.

"I can't believe that guy!" I said ranting while I open the door to my condo.

"My career's in risk, Ate! My boss is probably hating me right now. His fans know that I work in a Magazine Company and now I look like a girl who's trying to befriend an actor for fame." I pointed out.

"He's obviously joking, Tanya. He'll clear this incident tomorrow." Ate assured.

"And what about me?!" I asked.

"Well, I guess you just have to rest and be normal. Go to work tomorrow like you always do. Drown yourself to work like you always do." She said

I ignored her. Tomorrow, at work, would be completely different.

Before going to work, I went to starbucks for a cup of coffee since I didn't get much sleep because I ended up reading the hate I was receiving from his fans. I also read some news and of course, hate was still all over it.

And yup, I was right. People looked completely stunned by me when I entered the office. I looked at them weirdly and stared back to their work again. I went to my small office and saw some of my friends there.

"Uy, bes, sikat ka na ah!" Arielle joked when she saw me entering my small office.

I had a private office but it was small. I had a nice view and a neat environment so I have no complaints. My table was loaded with work but then I completely understand.

"It was just a joke." I said looking flustered. I knew this would happen, knowing my friends.

"Yeah, right!" Cassie said laughing.

"Pero malay mo naman, Tanya." She added shrugging.

"Tell us about your trip!" Arielle excitingly said.

"Uh, okay naman. It was fun and I felt really relaxed since I needed a vacation." I explained.

"Magkakasama ba kayo?" Cassie asked.

I nodded.

"Still curious why the picture Drew posted on his ig story didn't get viral. I mean, Toby and you were both so close!" Arielle commented.

"What picture?" I asked curiously.

Drew and the rest took a lot of pictures of me as an individual and Me and Toby together so I couldn't tell which one.

"Hmm, I think you were in line for check in that time!" Arielle answered.

"I'll look for it. It's probably viral now." Cassie laughed.

"Oh look! Toby and Tanya's trending and I also found the picture..." Cassie said showing me her phone.

"Ah, damn it drew!" I said.

Suddenly, we all heard a knock from my glass door.

"Yes, Aaron?" I asked.

"Big Boss is calling for you and... Cass, Arielle, back to work?" He said.

"Goodluck, girl!" Arielle said and they both left.

I quickly got off my chair and head to the main office. Before entering, I took a breath. I went inside and his look was...

completely terrible.

"Uh..."

"Welcome back, Tanya! Fresh from Japan! How's life? You've been receiving hate and I totally understand why dahil ako rin, binibigyan na rin ng masasamang comments! Saying that I sent you as a spy! Para may maisulat ka at may balak na sirain ang career ni Toby." He commented first.

"Boss naman! Let me explain." I said frowning.

"2 minutes." He said.

"Kasi ganito yun, dapat si Coleen, Ate Tara, at ako lang! Kaso sinabi ni Coleen sa boyfriend niya na si Drew na bestfriend ni Toby kaya biglaan nalang silang nakisama." I said.

He sighed. "Tanya, I believe you. But do you think the fans will believe you?" He asked seriously.

"I'll be making a statement later at his management. Sa ngayon, umuwi ka muna, magpahinga ka." He demanded.

"What? I have loaded work! I can't just leave it-"

"Marami pang iba diyan. I'm the boss and I told you to rest, so go. At baka pumunta ang media dito para humingi ng side mo. I want the office to be cleared from media. Please, Tanya." He said seriously.

I have no words.

I ended up going home with a disappointed face. I really have no idea what I'll do for the rest of the day.

"What happened to you?" Ate asked when I entered the unit. "Don't you have tons of work to do?" She asked laughing.

"I was sent home by my boss." I simply answered.

"No need to explain. I think I get it." She said.

"Come here." She said patting her side at the couch.

I sat down beside her and laid my head by her shoulder. She rubbed my head for comfort.

"It's impossible that you'd be fired, Tans. If that what you're worrying about." Ate assured.

"There's still a possibility." I said negatively.

"That's not the spirit of an Ignacio!" She said. "We're always look at things positively, right?" She reminded.

"You think I could still think positively when I'm slowly losing my job? The dream job I've worked so hard?" I said.

"That's why I'm telling you to look at things positively so don't think you'll lose your job!" I said.

I smiled. "Thank you, Ate. For always being there for me." I said.

"Siyempre naman, I always got you." She replied.

"I'm gonna flip if he won't clear the issue though. Seriously!" She said and laughed.

I let out a small laugh. We just watched movies and ate a lot since she called for a delivery and was too lazy to cookz

And at the end of the day...

there was no call from him, no news, not even a tweet to clear things up.

Hopefully tomorrow?

What is he doing? Is he busy?
