Over the course of the next few days, Anya spent a lot of time observing people rather than talking. She didn't talk much to begin with, so this kind of quiet was very noticeable. One night, Korra approached Anya about this.
"Are you alright?" She asked. "You seem more quiet than usual lately." "I'm fine." Anya replied. "I just like looking around. Profiling." "What's that?" Korra asked. "When I first met you," Anya started. "I could tell by your clothes, and your eye color, that you were most likely water tribe. You owned a polar bear dog, which confirmed it. They don't have polar bear dogs in the North pole, so you had to be from the South. You were also quirky and confident, so most likely a bender. You had tan lines that were fading. Could be from traveling a lot but you don't own a bison so it would be hard for you to get around without borrowing one from Tenzin. It was more likely that you spent a lot of time walking around Republic City. Mako held his composure with pride and his posture was perfect, obviously someone in some kind of military power, most likely a cop. You were friends with a cop who had the same fading tan lines as you. You walked around together, probably helping people. You also can project your voice very well which indicates you could be a person involved in the media. Involved in the media and helps people? Easy. Avatar." Korra was at a loss for words. "Wow." She finally said after a while. "It felt good to get that out." Anya replied. "I haven't spoken in a while." Korra laughed.
The following day, Tenzin and Anya walked through the town, Anya still being punished. She tried to listen out for anything about the Outsiders, but nothing came up, until she saw the man from a few days ago walking towards an alley. She pulled on the sleeve of Tenzin's robe. "I'll be back." She said. Tenzin just nodded because he was in the middle of an important conversation. Anya followed the guy. He walked down to the end of the alley and started talking to a guy in dark clothing. Anya stayed at the other end and tried her best to listen. "-sign.....the girls?" "-trail....picking up again." "-are they?" "-believe....in town." Anya turned and ran back to Tenzin, shocked by what she just heard. Why were the Outsiders still looking for them? Could one of the dock workers have recognized Anya as Tenzin's daughter? She bumped into something. She looked up and started to apologize when she came face to face with the man she had followed. "Hello." He said creepily. "What are you doing out here all by yourself?" "I-" Anya started. The man cut her off. "How about we go find your dad, huh?" He put a hand on her shoulder and started steering her in the opposite direction. "No." Anya said. "I know where he is." She tried to grab the mans hand and pull it off of her, but he gripped her shoulder tighter. They almost made it to the alley when, "Anya?" Tenzin called. Anya turned, and the mans grip loosened. She ran over to Tenzin. "May I ask what you were doing?" Tenzin asked sternly. Anya looked up and was about to say something when she realized Tenzin wasn't talking to her, he was talking to the man. "Just helping this girl find her family." He said innocently. "Well she's old enough to know where I was and she obviously didn't want to go with you." Tenzin replied. "So leave now, and if I see you near her again, you better hope there's a hospital nearby." The man grumbled and stomped away, and Anya looked up at Tenzin. "We have to leave." She told him. "Now."
