What I hate about Haikus

I can not fit
My seemingly
Simple thoughts
Into 17 syllables.

Three lines
Filled
With very few
Words.

is
Not enough
Even to explain
The way my heart beats.

My emotions
Are an ocean
That cannot be
Controlled or tamed

And shoved
Into tiny
Little
Stanzas.

I need
More room
To grow
And explain.

I need more
Than 5
Syllables
To explain

The way
His hair
Smells
Of rain.

I need more
Than 7
Syllables
To tell you

How I
Lost my
Heart near
Bellevue.

I need more
Than 5 syllables
To reveal
To you

The story
Of my
First
Home.

And the
First time
We
Lost it.

Lost something
So dear to me
That even at 3
I'd never forget.

You see,
My heart
My soul
My mind -

Are three
Very vast things
Separately
And combined.

I can not
Tell you
Each of my
Eclectic thoughts

In
Just
17
Syllables.

This is why I hate Haikus.
