If you're smart enough
Than you should know
School smarts
Versus
Street Smarts
Is a never ending
Show.
The battle
Between
Good grades
And good deeds
Has lasted
Too many years.
Because
When you're
Smart enough
To recite
The first
40 numbers
Of Pi
Why
Would you need
To know
How to knock
Simone out
In one
Blow?
And if
You know
How to sneak
A pack
Of gummy bears
Past the cameras
And the cashier
Why would
You need
A piece of paper
To tell you
You can go to
School
Next year.
But what the
Boxers
And the
Soldiers
In this war
Forgot
Was that
Whether you
Can read
A book
Or not...
Does not
Determine
Your worth.
Whether you
Know how to do
Long division
Or
How to
Steal a mans money
With his wallet
Still in his
Pocket
Does not
Mean
You are
Better
Than the other.
What we
Need to learn
Is how to
Come together
And use
Our brains
And our braun
To help
Each other.
There is
No more
Of this battle
It has
Already been won,
When you raised
That white flag
To signal
You were done.
