Alicia woke up in a cold sweat, hearing a strange noise in the main room, almost as if the wind came in for a visit and a cup of tea.
As she glanced around she noticed her clock: 1:00. It was one in the morning. Well, she wasn't going to back to bed anytime soon, so she might as well see if the window is opened, and get a midnight snack as well.
Half asleep, Alicia sluggishly got out of bed, and went into the living room. Quiet. There was absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. Alicia groaned. That was really worth getting out of bed for.
"Thanks strange noises in the night."
She walked in a zombie-like fashion over to the fridge, just to stop, frozen in her tracks.
"I'm seeing things right? I have to be seeing things." She rubbed her eyes. Nope. It was still there.
"Ok!" She shouted, waiting for an answer "That's really funny, but breaking and entering is a crime you know."
"Oh shut up!" Alicia had awoken Mrs Thomasson from upstairs. Now she was a bit freaked out, and much more awake.

"Wait, they put Crystal in the envelope?" Alicia thought. Yet as she checked there was nothing inside. She giggled.
"Ok, I'll play. I accept!"
It was all fun and games until she froze with shock. As she reached into the envelope she felt a small round orb.
Perhaps she didn't feel it before? She told herself this over and over, but something inside her told her to throw it; it's true and you know it.
She walked outside, locked her door, and walked to the side of the apartment building. Closing her eyes, she heaved a heavy sigh.
"Here goes nothing." She threw it at the wall as hard as she could and with a great blast of light...
