"Charles, help. He's suffocating me."
"I told you to run. I don't want to deal with this big cry baby."
"Um, sir? Is something wrong?"
"Yes, yes, thank you thank you! A beast! There is a horrible beast in my beautiful home!" He sounded panicked. What ever made him terrified had be absolute horror, right?
"What am I able to do about it? I'm just me! I'm literally only a small little girl who just moved out of her mother's house! Besides, I don't even know your name."
"You're a grown adult! You can handle it, and my name is Gareth Baráth, if it's so important. Now go! Go friend!" Gareth urged Alicia in the house. Once she entered, he slammed the door shut, and ran out of the yard, just to the edge of the forest.
That was...weird Alicia thought. It was clear something had happened in the quaint little house, but what ever could be so destructive?
It was uncomfortably quiet. From left to right, there was a grand clock, with all it's glass broken, a book shelf knocked over, a glass table that was smashed, a couch with scratch marks in it, a door way leading to the kitchen with scratch marks on it, a second wall clock, and a stairway leading upward, with a bookshelf underneath. Everything was scratched up and broken. There was glass everywhere, and spiderwebs seemed to have already started taking over.
"Hello?" Alicia called out walking around. "I- I'm here to help. The gentleman who owns this house sent me. He just asks you to leave and there will be no trouble." Alicia stood for a second in the middle of the kitchen. What was she doing? There was a beast on the loose and she was calling out to it as if it couldn't tear her apart in seconds.
It was obvious there was nothing in the kitchen so why call for it in here anyway? She walked straight back into the living room and up the stairs.
As soon as she got to the top she stopped immediately in her tracks and noticed one peculiar thing about the upstairs: it was in pristine condition. Nothing had been touched. Not even the vases on the tables were knocked over. She took the opportunity to notice the beauty of the room. Instead of a hallway, it was a large circular room with many doors leading to different rooms. The ceiling was made entirely of stained glass, and made for a beautiful sight. It almost made her forget about why she was in the house in the first place.
Outside, Gareth couldn't stop fidgeting. "Ooh... Do you think she's dealing with it? Do you think she got it?"
"I can't believe you sent her in there for... What is it that's turned you into a three year old?"
"Oh, you think it's nothing, but the creature was horrifying! It- it was black and it had eight legs and- and..." Gareth trailed off as he shivered again.
"How big was it exactly, Gareth?" Charles was grinding his teeth in anger as he had his suspicions of what it was.
"A little bigger than you..."
"You idiot! You sent the child in
For a spider! A damn spider!"
"Don't you start yelling at me! You know I hate those nasty little creatures!"
"You... Inside. Now. We have to tell her she's searching for nothing."
Inside, Alicia had found herself in a sort of study. Working right to left, it was the third door. It seemed like the walls were bookshelves themselves. The table in the middle was round with a white table cloth on it. As Alicia walked around she noticed something black in between a few books; as she got closer she noticed how big it was. What was it?...
As Charles and Gareth went inside they heard a scream.
"Oh no! It got to her!you know what that means?! We're next!"Gareth looked as if he were going to run outside.
"I told you before, it's just a spider. However they tend to be bigger here than what Alicia's use to so the size probably scared her. Now look around. She's probably where the spider is, so we won't have to look too hard." They looked in the living room, then in the kitchen and made their way left to right upstairs until they finally got to the study. When they entered, they found Alicia sitting, on the ground, while facing the bookshelves.
"Alicia? Are- are you alright?" Gareth stammered. Alicia turned around, and to Gareth's horror, she was holding the nasty little creature! He fell back, scampering away with his claws beared. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
"It's friendly. I'm going to take it outside."
"IT WILL KILL YOU!"
"STOP YELLING DAMN IT! It's just a spider and if I put outside in it's natural home than you can't touch it, because technically it would be breaking and entering into it's home and that's not right, and it'll already be out of your house anyway. So... Problem solved." Just then, Alicia took a look around and noticed the damage that Gareth had caused to his own house. "Gareth, I thought a horrible beast had destroyed your home, but it was just you doing it on accident. You can't blame the spider for that."
As Gareth looked around he almost seemed like he was going to cry. "Oh, my poor house! I suppose you're right. I guess sometimes fear itself can be more destructive than the evil you're afraid of, huh?"
