"We're here!" As the driver shouted this Alicia and Madeia jumped to the windows to look at the city. Neither could believe their eyes.
As they came upon the horse stalls they noticed it was made of refined, smooth dark wood with a shiny metal that showed off every color it was given. This metal was used for everything from the metal on the doors to the windows, and so on.
They rode slowly on, coming across travelling merchants who seemed to have made their fortune, wearing bright colors and delicate patterns, followed by guards.
Alicia took notice of the city guards too. They had polished steel, each with a unique design on them, painted with gold paint. Some had intricate designs, while a few had what seemed like children's paintings on them. "Charles, why are the guards' armor so different from one another?"
"From what I heard, it's to remind the people, that while they are heroes and soldier's, they are citizens too; unique citizens with families and homes."
"I wonder if the ones with child paintings were actually painted by their children." Madeia remarked.
Inside the white stone walls, the city seemed even more alive. There were town criers, shop keepers, stall keepers, and even a jester.
"7 minutes...7 minutes... 7 Minutes... 7 MINUTES THATS ALL YOU GET!" The jester seemed to be shouting random numbers and phrases all while showing off his flexibility and energy.
"Alicia, is there something you need to tell Madeia?"
She didn't have to say anything. Madeia read her like a book, but at that moment, she didn't seem to care. She was in Calleash!
"Madeia.... We don't have any money."
"Then I guess I'm following you around until you do, besides couldn't you just sell you're bracelet?"
"My bracelet..." She wore a colorful bracelet covered in all different sorts of gems that Molly gave her. If she gave that up, she feels she would be betraying the triplets.
"No, we won't be needing to sell anything. I know a man around here who owns a bakery. We can go to him for help."
Charles stated firmly.  "Madeia, he might have money for you; if not, I can pay you after the Daish Ball."
"Wait, wait, wait. Why after the ball? What's so important about the ball?"
"I've arranged to meet a friend there. Besides, do you really mind staying in Calleash for a few days?"
"You do realize I don't have much money, right? What about housing and food?"
"I told you we'll get help from the baker!"
"Guys. What's the Daish Ball?"Alicia piped up.
"You really are the most clueless girl I've ever met." Madeia sounded snarky. "The Daish Ball is a big party the Queen and King throw in celebration of the day of Daish, which is a celebration that simply celebrates life and being alive. Everyone in the kingdom is invited and, as a general rule, everyone outside the kingdom is too. The party lasts all day and most of the night. Even the guards of the city take turns guarding so every one of them gets a chance to go to the party. It's the only time absolutely everyone in the kingdom is allowed at the castle."
"For now, let's just head to the bakery. I think you girls will love it."
