Jadyn's POV

The boys hadn't woken up yet but I had been up for an hour. I was getting restless. After another 30 minutes I decided not to wait for them any longer. I quietly walked out of the rental house and onto the splintered planks of the board walk.

I strolled down to the beach and looked out across the water. It was so beautiful, and the sand in between my toes felt so wonderful. This reminded me of Back when my dad wasn't an alcoholic and he took me and my mother to the Bahamas for winter vacation. That one the last thing we did as a family before my mom died and things took a turn for the worst with my dad.

For me it was still a happy memory. If I wasn't on a mission to save the galaxy, I would totally live here and relax on the beach all day.

I was walking near the shore line when something caught my eye. A dolphin was in the shallow water softly chirping at me. I approach it without a second though and wade through the water to get closer to it.

I swims towards me and just as it reaches me my expression changes from a calm to horrified as the dolphin changes before my eyes. I hear it's bones crack as it morphs into a hideous fish monster with human hands. I try to run away but the water is slowing me down. Soon it has its slimy hands around my ankles and it's dragging be back into the deep water. I try to scream but every time I do it starts pulling be down faster. Before I knew it I was underwater.

Stranger's POV

Today I woke up depressed. This wasn't a surprise since I'd been waking up that way for the past month now. I contemplating all of my life decisions while walking on the beach when I heard a short scream.

I quickly turn to the direction of the sound. I see a girl around my age getting pulled under the water by a morph whale.

I didn't have time to think. I usually don't do any kind of physical exercise but today I was running like a life depended on it. And one life did. I ran, well, not very fast. I was probably not capable of going fast at all.

As I 'ran' my mint hair whipped around my face making it hard to see if the girl was still above the water. When I reached the edge of the water I hesitated. I hated... no, I was terribly afraid of water. My whole family was drowned by morph whales and I had never learned how to swim. But I could not just let this girl die.

I took a deep breath before jumping into the water. She was putting up a fight so the whale hadn't taken her too far out. I splashed up to them and kicked the creature square in its ugly face. It glared up at me and with the girl still in one of its hands it chased me towards the shore. I splashed back up onto land just as the monster gripped the back of my shirt making me fall backwards into the water.

Water started to fill my lungs so I used all the strength I could muster to get myself above the water. I coughed up a little of the water before I started thrashing around trying to make the whale let go of me. I ripped my shirt of succeeding in getting it to release me. Seconds after it grabs my ankles and yanks sending me onto my back. My head snaps down and hits a rock. The world around me turns grey and fuzzy as I'm dragged under the water.

It seemed helpless but I refuse to die today. Especially by the same water my little sister and mother did. Even though I was fully submerged in the cold water, I felt my body heat up. I open my eyes to see a glow like fire radiating off of my skin. As I felt myself become hotter (winkety wonkety) I felt the whale release me and hiss.

A surge of energy washed through me and my head became clear again. I saw the girl struggling to get to the surface. Even though I previously had no knowledge of how to swim, I somehow effortlessly swam up to her and helper her to shore. Just as I was about to step out of the water too, the whale came and grabbed at my leg again. I turned and put my hands out. A ball of flame shot out from each of my palms striking the monster. It squealed and swam away.

I stumbled back looking at my hands. A fearful expression on my face. I turned one last time to make sure the girl was okay before running off. Just as my feet left the sand and landed on the wooden boards I heard someone call after me but I did not even look back. I ran and ran until I stopped to catch my breath behind a fishing shed. It was then that I felt the power leave me and all of my injuries catch up to me.

I clutched the back of my head my hand returning covered in blood from hitting it on the rock. I became dizzy and the world around me started to fade. The last thing I remember was watching a small flame spring from my finger as I lay on the ground bleeding out thinking, what is wrong with me? Then the flame went out and everything was dark.

Jinyoung's POV

I rushed towards the shore as fast as I could when Hoseok and I heard Jadyn scream. I see J soaking wet just out of the water and a guy with green hair running away from her. I feel something on my chest heat up and look down to see the flower petals glowing in the direction of the green haired boy. Hey! I shout after him but he keeps running.

We can find him again later. Right now the priority is making sure J is ok. I continue following Hoseok to where she is nor standing up and brushing sand off of her. She told us about the monster, Hoseok called it a morph whale, and how that boy saved her. She said that he had fire powers and J was convinced that he was a descendant.

I helped her up and hugged her. You scared me so much. I stated, don't ever run off by yourself alone again. You could've died. Jinyoung knew he sounded like a worried parent right now but just wanted Jadyn to be safe. She nodded before saying that they should go look for the green haired kid.
