Jadyn's POV
I slept for a few hours before really thinking about what Holly had told us. I mean I guess it all makes sense. There had to have been a reason why we were here. I decided to accept it without question. I've only been here for a day and I've seen enough to the point of if the grass started singing the blues I wouldn't even acknowledge it.
I look over at Jinyoung cuddled next to Holly. Even though his face was in a pained expression he was still beautiful. Aish what am I doing!!!? I caught myself staring and quickly turned away.
I got up and walked over to the opening where we slid down and saw that it was night. I decided to wake Holly and Jinyoung up so we could get moving.
I crouch down in front of him and poke his face. He immediately sits up with wild eyes and throws a punch at me. I notice the scratches on his face. I dodge just before it could hit me. Whoa there tiger! I exclaim as he sees me and calms down. Omg I thought you were a monster! He sighed. C'mon feisty boy we gotta get going. I state.
Wait guys u don't even know where to look. Holly said through a yawn. Sit back down!!! We sat and listened quietly.
I'll explain quick so we can leave. Jinyoung, I will enchant your necklace to lead us to the descendants. The petals will glow in the direction we need to go and all of them will glow when we are near. The doggo hopped onto Jinyoung's lap with a glowing tongue and licked his girly pendant.
It lit up and the petal at the very bottom faintly glowed in the darkness of the cave. Now, continued Holly, jae will probably be after them too. He has strong magic and many allies. He is know to use these small bugs to control people's minds. The latch onto your neck and then your under his spell. When we run into him beware of that. He also has flying raptors and dire wolves. That's why I have brought along weapons for you both.
Holly ran to a big stone and from behind it, pulled a large sack. He dragged out two weapons; a katana and a long silver pole. Jadyn the sword is for you and Jinyoung you get the the quarterstaff. As far as I know the descendants don't know about their powers. Your job is to help them unlock them and convince them to come with you.
Just then we heard a rumbling noise. Against the wall! Now!!! Holly shouted. I stood up and yanked Jinyoung back against the cold stone wall just as a rampage of huge spiders trampled the spot where we just were. Don't let them bite you! They are poisonous!!! The puppy exclaimed.
A humongous arachnid skidded out of the stampede and started creeping towards us followed by two slightly smaller ones. I guess it's time to try out our new weapons. Jinyoung yelled as he grabbed up the staff with his good arm and did a 360 with it extended knocking the two smaller spiders into the hoard.
I followed up his action by swinging the katana. I hit the spider, but with the wrong side of the blade only causing the creature to stumble to the side. I obviously didn't know how to use the tool. I ended up just hitting its head with the blunt end of my sword and I kicked it into the wave of bugs.
We scampered up the way we came down back into the forest. Wow you suck at fighting! Jinyoung said with a giggle. I playfully punched his arm in response. I guess it's time for me to leave you guys to your quest now. Holly said plainly. What? Wait. NO!!! Jinyoung and I shout in unison. We were too late. With a puff of glitter the little dog disappeared.
I can't believe he left us just like that!!! Jinyoung said while pacing and holding his head, his quarter staff strapped to his back by an elastic piece Holly had given him. It's fine! I say. We have weapons and your necklace to guide us! I bet he wouldn't have been able to help fight anyways!
Your right I guess... he calmed down a bit. Well, he stammered. W- We should get going now... he looked down at his necklace. One of the delicate pink petals was glowing softly. I guess we go this way... he mumbled.
I followed him quietly, scanning the pink petals of the trees for danger. The flower petals on the trees look quite similar to the petals on Jinyoung's pendant. I glance up at Jinyoung staring intently at the flower as he walks.
I look just in front of him to see... nothing!!! Jinyoung!!! I shout just as he takes a step off the cliff. He realizes what happened and waved his arms trying to catch his balance. He couldn't. He fell. I ran to the edge and reached down hoping to catch him. I grasped his hand tightly. But unfortunately it was his bad arm. He cried out and I heard a sickening crack. This was not satisfying like the one I heard from the dragon. His grip went limp as he blacked out from the pain.
I still had his wrist but he was deadweight. I felt his arm slipping from my grasp. Just as my hand slid and I only had a hold of his fingers another hand reached down and grabbed the back of his jacket. Together we hoisted his limp body up.
I turn to see a strong boy around my age with dark brown hair. W-who are you? I stutter. Don't worry princess! He said with a wide smile. I'm not gonna hurt you two! My name is Jung Hoseok and I'm just from that village down there. He pointed off the cliff I look off to see a small farming village in the valley below.
I see the glow coming from Jinyoung's pendant. I gasp. All of the petals are lit up!!! I turn around. Um, uh, I'm Jadyn and this is Jinyoung. We were actually just looking for you! He he. I give an awkward laugh. Omg what am I supposed to say???!!!
Just then I hear a sinister laugh and Hoseok and I turn to see who I assume is Jae riding a huge wolf. I've come for you Hoseok!!! He says creepily.
