Chapter 13

Peri's Pov

It was heaven.

That feeling when you wake up facing the person you love the most, happiness. I was shocked when I learnt that Lapis was my mate, well I should've known it from the start when Lapis was acting weird. After all this time, I thought that she didn't know and was still all over me, but now I know the truth.

I cuddled Lapis, placing my face on the crook of her neck. Sighing, one of the best mornings I had so far.

I heard a 'ping!' come from my phone, so I grabbed it and was shocked that Dad messaged me. I totally forgot that I was supposed to update them about what has happened in the past week. I pale, if they knew that Lapis was my mate, they would freak! Especially since she's a vampire.

My only hope now is if they understand. Maybe mom would, but Dad... I don't know about him.

Sighing, I inhaled Lapis' scent and it made my wolf and I calm. It was intoxicating, like a drug that makes me feel alive. I could get used to smelling that everyday. Since Lapis... Marked me last night, her scent would be mixed with mine, and I don't know how my parents would react if they smell her on me.

Our scents would fully mix after we complete the mating bond, which I am not sure how it would happen since we're both women. Maybe we'll just have to... Improvise.

Lapis stirred in her sleep and laid on her back, her arms draped around my body. Now that has got to hurt. I don't get how people could sleep with their bodies twisted with their arms and legs in different positions.

I placed my face on the crook of her neck, and nuzzled her.

"Morning..." I whispered, I knew she was bound to wake up soon, she already moved.

Soon enough, she yawned. Sitting up, she stretched with her eyes still closed.. All those worn-out bones make a satisfying 'pop'. She rubbed her eyes and face, and finally opening her eyes. She laid back down, sliding an arm under my head, making an 'arm-pillow'.

She leaned down and kissed my forehead.

"Morning... You always wake up early huh?" She was mumbling as her lips were still on my forehead.

I nodded slowly. I leaned in and kissed her cheek. I hugged her side and tangled our legs together.

"What's up little wolfy? You seem cuddly today." She whispered as one hand played with my hair, twirling it on her fingers while the other hand caressed my back.

"Nothing, I'm just happy that I woke up seeing an angel." I smirked and she looked at me. You could see blood rushing towards her face, heating it up.

"You know, I had a good night sleep. Did you?" She said, her eyes-half lidded.

I nodded, "One of the best." I leaned in and kissed her lips, lingering until I felt her kiss back. It was a short yet passionate kiss. I pulled away to see that she was fully blushing now.

I chuckled and got out of bed, making my way towards the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth. I brushed my teeth thoroughly and after that I was washing my face. I feel Lapis' arms around my waist and hugged me from behind.

"Happy Birthday..." She whispered in my ear. Wiping my face with a towel, I turned around to face her, my body leaning against the edge of the sink. Her arms were still around my waist, holding me as I placed my arms around her neck.

She looked at me in the eyes and I saw the look that she was giving me.

"What is it? Is there something wrong?" I was kinda worried about what she was thinking right now.
