Lapis' Pov

We were content at that point. Now all I have to do is pretend to not know who my beloved is.

I heard light snoring beside me and I grinned. Peridot didn't get that much sleep since I kinda woke her up. Slowly, I removed her head from mine and carefully laid her on her bed, giving her a light kiss on the cheek. I covered her with a blanket so that she'll be warm, not that she could be cold, she is generating her own heat after all.

I went to my bed and laid down, covering myself with my own blanket before turning on my alarm. I wanted to give Peridot those bed-in-breakfast things and I hope that she'll appreciate it.
After setting my alarm, I laid on my side so that I'm facing Peri. I watched her while she was sleeping for a while and thought that it was enough. After all, I do have her for the rest of my life. I slowly closed my eyes, all of my thoughts on Peridot. I seem to fall asleep in no time.

I'm pretty sure that I was smiling in my sleep.

~Morning~

My alarm woke me up, my body felt heavy when I was trying my hardest to tap the dismiss button. I groggily woke up and looked around with half-lidded eyes. Everything was still blurry. I didn't see Peri on her bed so that means that she's already out. Oh come on, I was planning on doing something for her and it's ruined.

Damn you Peridot and your early rising skills.

I rubbed my eyes and face and stretched 'till I heard the bones on my back crack. I sighed satisfyingly, the feeling was so relaxing. Trudging to the bathroom, I grabbed a fresh clean towel on my way there and started to bath. I was rinsing my hair when I heard the door open and close quietly.

Wrapping myself in a towel, I went outside of the bathroom and looked to see Peridot placing a cup of warm coffee on my nightstand.

She turned around and both her eyebrows raised.

"Oh! I didn't notice that you're ready already. Here, I got you this coffee. I didn't really know what you like so I just picked what I always order." She pointed towards the coffee and rubbed her nape and blushed.

I smiled, "It's no biggie, thanks for the coffee anyways."

She grinned, showing her sharp canines and plopped down her bed, face down the pillow.

I changed my clothes as fast as I can without Peridot noticing, looking back at her, she was already facing the wall.

"So, what exactly do you have in mind for today hm? If you want we can go to the movies, or we can just go and eat somewhere. It is your birthday after all." She pointed out.

I was thinking, maybe going out for movies is fun. I fingered the necklace that was around my neck. I smiled, remembering that Peridot got it for me. In my peripheral vision, I could also see the flower.

"How 'bout we just go out for movies instead, we could just eat here in the academy." I suggested.

She nodded, grabbing her glasses with light green-ish lenses and took my hand.

She smiled at me and we walked out. We were walking down the road hand-in-hand and she was looking around nervously.

I let go of her hand and placed it on her shoulder.

"Hey, what's the matter? You look like you're sick to your stomach Peri." I said, rubbing her back.

"It's nothin', just worried that you're beloved might see us together." Oh, so that's what she was worried about. I smiled.
