Chapter 19

Peri's Pov

I groaned.

"Dad please, I know you're worried about me. There's nothing to be worried about, my friends can help me out if I needed anything." I was trying to calm my heart and my father. He keeps insisting that they should come and visit.

"Peridot, you know how much your mother and I worry about you. Now that Jasper found her mate, who's going to look after you now?" I can hear the worry laced in his voice.

I face-palmed, "Well, Lapis can help me if I needed anything." I said. It became silent on his side. "Uh dad? Everything okay?" I became worried.

"Lapis? You mean, Lapis Lazuli? The Lapis Lazuli?" I gulped, he was growling. "W-Well yeah dad. I mean, she is pretty famous for her father. So they enrolled her here too." I bit my lip. He growled again.

"Don't you EVER get near that woman, her father is a goddamn leach! They're all leaches!" He snarled and I whimpered. My wolf whined and I can feel the pain she's feeling.

"W-Well uh, that's kind of hard. C-Considering we're roommates.." I whispered, hoping he wouldn't hear but I heard a crack on the other side of the phone. "Roommates?! Why the fuck did they put you in with a leach?!" He was angry.

I growled and was trying hard not to snap. "She isn't a leach Dad, She's also my friend!" I snarled. "What?! How can you be friends with that, thing?!" I snarled yet again. "There's nothing you can do! She's part of my life now, and sooner or later, she'll also be part of yours." I yelled. I didn't think of what I was saying, all I could think of is that he shouldn't be insulting MY mate.

I can hear the shock in his voice, "What do you mean?!" I didn't answer. "Goodbye dad." And i ended the call. I sighed and brushed a hand through my hair.

I groaned, "What the hell did I just say to my father." I whined and slapped my face gently. "Well, first you told him that I wasn't a leach, then you yelled, then you kind of told him a hint about us." Lapis says as she plops down beside me. Id whine, "Why did I do that?" I keep on slapping my face gently until I felt her hand holding mine.

"Hey calm down Peri, you'll get through this, okay?" She smiled and gave me a kiss on the forehead. I sighed, "I really hope so, or else I'm going to have to pack my stuff and move here." She frowned, "Then I'll try to get them to like me, if it's the last thing I'll do." She said with a grin on her face.

I smiled, "That's one of the reasons why I love you Laz, you just keep on trying in order to fix everything." I brushed my thumb over her cheek and gave her a short peck. She patted my hair and went to go wash up.

I sat up and thought to myself. If they decided to attack Lapis, what am I going to do? My wolf kept whining in my head and I sighed. The door to the bathroom opens and Lapis' comes out, clad only in a towel. I scratched my head.

"Hey Laz, if my parents do come here, please just keep your distance from them? I don't want you getting hurt." I pouted. She was wiping her hair and changing into her clothes when she chuckled. "Ofcourse Peridot, wouldn't want to worry my little puppy." She winked after.

I snickered,"Puppy? Where did that nickname come from?" I reached out and hugged her from behind. She turned and looked at me, "Well, you are pretty small Peri, and cute too. So I decided to make you my puppy." She kissed my nose and grabbed her phone.

"I'm gonna get lunch, wanna come with?" She opened the door and looked over to me. I nodded and grabbed the room keys and went out with her after locking the doors. Something weird was, the school suddenly got populated with werewolves from our pack. Or did I just not notice them?

They were staring at us, watching our every move and growling. I growled back at them but they didn't budge and I got confused. That's when I realized that they were only staring at Lapis. I feel her hand snaking down to mine. "Uh Peri? Why are they staring like that?" I can feel the worry in her voice.

She may be one powerful vampire, but she can't take all of them at on. The wolves started to growl louder and had their claws ready when they saw her hold my hand. I snarled, "Okay I've had enough of this shit, what the hell are you guys doing?!" I said using an alpha tone.

My father's tone was much more powerful though. One wolf backed down. "Alpha Greene has ordered us to watch you. He believed that the Vampire will be able to harm you once the place is clear." He bowed and I was shocked. My father doesn't trust her, well after what happened way before.

"What she'll do to me? We've been roommates for weeks! Why would he think that she'll do something?" I heard Lapis yelp as one member has his hand digging on her. My wolf growled, getting angry. I grabbed his arm and bit parts of it off.

"Get the fuck away from her!" I snarled. He was wincing and whispering as his arm bled. I placed Lapis behind me and growled at the people before me. "If anyone of you hurts her, any less touch her, I will rip your throats off!" I can feel heat emanating from my body as I tried controlling my wolf.

I can't shift, not right now or else blood is going to get spilled. I feel her hands wrapping around my body as she hugged me. "Come on Peridot, calm down.." She says in a whispered tone. I huffed, then whined. My wolf was calming down as I turned and hugged her back. The members backed down and were shocked. They ran out, maybe to report to my father.

I made a purring sound as I nuzzled her cheek and she giggled. "Come on puppy, let's get some food." She had a smile, that suddenly turned into a frown as she was held up in the air and she began choking. I gasped and backed away. "Peridot, what are you doing with this leach." My father was there, choking Lapis using his one hand. I whimpered, "Dad no, please!" I grabbed his arm and tried to pull him away, yet his hold on Lapis just tightened even more.

She started gasping for air as she struggled to get away from my Father. I growled and pushed him, but he was so focused on Lapis that he pushed me away. I could feel the anger he was feeling as I hit the lockers and i winced, falling down the floor. I whimpered and looked at Lapis as her eyes turned red. She hissed, her fangs growing and she clawed at my father's arm until it bled. He growled and held his bleeding arm.

"How dare you, you bitch!" His voice bellowed across the halls and people started looking, keeping their distances. She made an attempt to hit his head, and he snarled while she hissed. "Get away from her!" She lost control and shifted right in front of everyone. I gasped and everyone else did too as she lunged for his shoulder and took a chunk of it off. She was turning rabid.

"LAPIS NO!" I yelled as she bit my father's neck. "NO, STOP IT!" I howled and she looked at me. Her red eyes going back to her blue ones. She whimpered as she tried to walk over to me slowly with her head down. My father was holding his neck and choking. She shifted back and everyone looked away as she was naked. I was crying already.

She bit her arm and dropped her blood into my Father's mouth and he spit it out. "Get away from me you bitch." He growled. She sighed. "You'll die if you don't drink this." So she kept on giving him her blood. Her wound healed right after.

I went to my dad and asked people to bring him to the hospital in the school. I sniffed and sobbed. "Dad I'm sorry..." I tried saying but he was already fainted. Lapis tried to hug me from behind and I pulled away from her causing my wolf to whine in protest.

"Why did you do it...?" I growled but all that came out was whimpers. "H-He hurt you Peridot.. You know I wouldn't let anyone hurt you.." She frowned. "You almost killed my Father!" I yelled at her. My wolf winced and i did too. It hurt for me to yell at our mate but what she did was wrong. She almost killed him. She whined and looked down. She sniffed and she threw herself at me. "I'm so sorry Peridot... Please forgive me.." She was crying, sobbing even.

I sighed and hugged her. Her mouth was smeared with blood, the blood of my father. I cringed and wiped the blood away from her face.

"I'll protect you no matter what, Peridot...."
