Everything ached, several places were bleeding and she couldn't move. Brilliant. She took in her surroundings. The place was a mess. Panels lay in piles, reduced to rubble. The remaining panels were stained a rusty red. Chell stopped as she saw the wheely trolley beside her. It was littered with operating tools. Scalpels, tongs, clamps, the odd drill and what looked like a knife, coated in dried blood. A chill travelled down her spine as she thought about why it was so bloody.
She froze as the door opened. She could hear the footsteps, just out of her field of vision. She strained her neck, trying to look at whoever was behind her. A loud clang echoed out as a switch was flipped. A panel moved and a mask dropped down. Chell struggled as she tried not to breathe in the bubblegum pink gas. The figure stood over her and fastened the mask around her face. 'Honestly, what is it with me and passing out recently?' she thought, frustrated. The last thing she remembered was a painfully familiar voice calling out " Goodnight, my little test subject..."

Wheatley turned away from the body on the table and poured over his many instruments. He selected a scalpel, a mad glint in his eye as he turned back to his play thing. Ever since he had let that glitch in, he couldn't control his movements or voice. All he could do was watch in despair. He just wanted to apologise and hug poor Chell, who lay in front of him in a fitful sleep. He began to sob as he watched the scalpel slice through the skin on her head, showing muscle. The android, oblivious to his surroundings, continued his task. He picked up a bone saw and cut a hole in the front of her skull. He could see the fleshy brain, soft as putty, sitting there being useless. He took his masterpiece, a small metal cube, and placed it into the gap. He sealed up the hole, then replaced the muscle and sewed up the incision. Chell stirred slightly but didn't wake. The android strolled out the room and whistled a merry little tune as he proceeded back towards his "lair". He would revive Chell once her wounds healed. Then back to testing. In the mean time, he was going to check out the disturbance in the turret redemption line incinerator.
