To Brock's peace of mind, they arrived to the Bolton's house only in time to see the Bomb Squad truck leave, and the uniforms remove the barriers blocking the streets. So he left Gillian and Russell at the vacant house, with her team, and left.

There was only one device inside the closet, and not even fully assembled, so Ron had taken care of it in a couple of minutes. They'd spent the next couple of hours canvassing the house, but they hadn't found any other bomb, nor any more elements to put up one.

They headed all together to the hotel. Kurt was already there, at the pool with Tanya and Connor, and the rest of the team decided to join them. Cassidy had said the Bureau's jet was available to take them back to Boston in the morning, and they'd rather rest and relax, instead of struggling with the traffic only to visit a couple of places.

As soon as everybody had a beer and a spot by the swimming pool, Gillian went inside with her phone.

Aldana suspected who she was calling, and waved at Gillian to come sit with her and Russell when she came back out.

"Somerville, right?"

Gillian sat down with a sigh. "Yeah. I'm seeing him tomorrow afternoon."

"Somerville?" repeated Russell. "The one from the book on the Libra?"

"Yeah. I wanna consult him about those damn messages. Maybe he knows something to help us figure them out."

"So you think it's more than a prank." Russell's words reflected his discomfort about keeping the whole thing from Brock.

"They're painted in human blood," said Aldana, unaware of his reproach.

"Really."

Gillian met his eyes, not a hint of a smile. Her hardened tone startled Aldana. "I ain't telling him, Russ. And neither are you."

They looked at each other in a thickening silence. Aldana's eyes moved from one friend to the other, arching her eyebrows. "Guys...?" she tried.

"Hey, Mom! Do we have plans for tonight?"

Gillian held Russell's disapproving stare a moment longer, then she turned to Connor. "Tonight?"

They boy joined them, keeping his phone away from the water pouring from his hair. "Yeah. Andrea and I wanna have dinner."

"Tonight?" Gillian repeated.

"Andrea?" Aldana whispered to Russell.

"Brockner," he mouthed.

"Oh..."

"Yeah, Mom. Dinner. Tonight. Do we have any plan?"

Gillian turned to the other two, her eyes begging them to make something up to get her off the hook.

"I'm taking Al to dinner," Russell said, failing to sound apologetic.

"And the lads were talking about poker night," Aldana said with an innocent smile.

"So, nope. You have no plans for dinner tonight, Reg."

"Mom...?"

Russell and Aldana smirked at Gillian's death glare.

"So I can tell her yes?" Connor asked.

"Can you give me a moment, please?"

The boy knew that tone and flashed the smile designed specially to defuse her in a heartbeat. It worked eleven times out of ten. Like now.

"What's the plan?" she asked, smiling back.

"Nothing fancy. Juts fast food at any diner."

"Wait a minute."

Gillian stood up and circled the swimming pool toward Tanya. The girl lay by the water, sunglasses and earphones on. Connor, Aldana and Russell watched Gillian and Tanya trade a few words. Gillian looked positively relaxed when she joined them back.

"How about going with T?" she said.

Connor frowned, taken aback. "You mean Andrea, T and me with Agent Brockner?"

Gillian grinned at him.
