(Ookami's POV)
I was almost bouncing with excitement as the team and I walked to the designated building for the Chunin exams.
We walked up a couple flights of stairs, where we encountered two men beating up a girl with two other guys there. I sighed, groaning as I leaned against the wall, waiting for them to be finished. I made a point of not looking at or speaking to Naruto, which I think he's noticed. AI had been ever since the other night when we had ramen, and I had left early then, too.
It was just that... when I was eating ramen and talking to him, I would find myself studying his bright yellow hair, his big, beautiful blue eyes that always sparkled happiness and excitement as he spoke to me about different things... and that! That's why I had to leave! I would drift off, feeling oddly giddy and satisfied whenever we hung out together! And recently, I got these weird nervous butterflies in my stomach whenever I got close to him - no, scratch that, they were these big bullfrogs that leapt around in my stomach, creating a great commotion caussed by stupid and pointless nerves! So I'd just stopped hanging out around him, and those weird feelings would stop! The only downfall was that I felt an emptiness in my chest that had been full whenever I was with him, and it felt like I was being stabbed whenever I saw that pleading, puppy-dog look he gave me... But I couldn't let those emotions toy with me! Therefore, it had to be done.
I opened my eyes to see that the genjutsu had been removed and we were on the move again. I kicked off of the wall and trailed behind my teammates, pretending I didn't notice the occasional glances Naruto would send my way. I just wanted to get to the first exams as quickly as possible.
But, of course, Lady Luck is never on my side.
We were delayed further by one of the guys from before challenging Sasuke to a battle. I snickered as he blew Sakura kisses, almost all of which she dodged, but the last one 'hit' her on the forehead. I tried to contain my laughter as she fell backwards dramatically, which was proved easy as my eyes were drawn to the battle at hand. The kid - Rock Lee - was fast, and he only used Taijutsu, and still beat Sasuke - or, he was about to finish him off when a gigantic turtle appeared and began talking to him. "Can turtles be senseis?" Naruto wondered loudly, and I smiled slightly, about to run over and leap onto his back, but I wiped it off of my face and blew off the urge, remembering that I was supposed to be ignoring him.
"No, you idiot!" I snapped harshly, angered by the fact that I was doing this to both him and myself, and then regretted it as he looked at me, his blue eyes wide with hurt. I felt my heart clench painfully as I forced myself to look away from him, gritting my teeth together in an attempt to keep it together.
I watched as the true sensei popped up. he frighteningly resembled Lee with his shiny, black, bowl cut hair, bushy eyebrows, cheesy grin, and their matching outfits of green spandex suits and orange legwarmers. I looked on, disturbed as one minute the sensei was lecturing him and then suddenly they were both crying and hugging each other.
I turned from the scene quickly, mentally scarred. "Let's get out of here."
My team obviously agreed as they followed me out of the place quickly and we made our way to the correct room.
