I am SO SORRY!  Time just flew by, and it wasn't until I saw the date on this story and looked between it and my calender (I'm probably the reason people are referred to as 'Dumb Blondes') that I was like 'HOLY CRAP!  I HAVEN'T UPDATED IN FOREVER!'  So... I hope you can forgive me and that you enjoy the chapter!

Again, SO SORRY!

Chapter 15

(Ookami's POV)

As we flew out on Deidara's clay bird, I looked back at Sasori, whose attention had quickly returned to the older woman.  I wondered once more how they were connected, before a sense of worry kicked in.  Something felt off about leaving him there to face them alone....  He obviously could have taken on Sakura alone with both hands tied behind his back, which is saying something, since he's a puppet master.  But, I wasn't so sure about the old woman.  I could feel something powerful about her - 'powerful' in human terms, anyways - and it made me nervous.

"Tch."  The noise compelled me to turn my attention back to Deidara, who was looking back at Sasori, as well, before his eyes connected with mine.  "If you're that worried, just stay with him, yeah?  I'll be fine."

Snorting, I reluctantly dragged my gaze away from Sasori, where it had ended up once more as Deidara spoke.  "Yeah, right.  Because a terrorist bomber is the most reliable source in the world.  I'm fine right where I am, thanks."

"Whatever, Princess, but don't come crying to me if something happens, yeah?  'Cause I won't have any sympathy to spare for you."

I smirked, "Please - have you ever known a demon to cry?"

He grunted slightly, and I grinned in victory, about to say something when suddenly a crow flew down next to us, landing on my shoulder.  I looked over at it as I heard a voice in my head saying; "Ookami, go to the borders - we have some unwanted company."

"Got it," I murmured to the bird, which suddenly was gone in a flurry of black feathers.  "Think you can handle yourself, Dei?"

"Just go," he said, scowling over at me.

Risking a last glance back at Naruto and Kakashi, I leaped off the bird, heading towards the boundaries.  Unfortunately, they took to following me, instead.

"OOKAMI!" bellowed Naruto from behind me, and I felt another painful tug in my chest as I heard the anger in his voice, covering up - for the most part - the underlying pain.

I stopped, turning to face them head on, my Akatsuki cloak billowing around me as I peered out over it's high collar.  Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Deidara flying over to us, and I shifted my gaze to him.  "Take care of the intruders..." I turned my gaze back to Naruto, looking into his furious blue orbs indifferently.  "I'll handle these guys."

Deidara gave me a warning look, "Ookami..."

I waved him off, "Don't get like that with me, Dei, alright?  I won't kill the Jinchuuriki - but I make no promises about the other one."

He sighed, "Just be careful, would you?  God, Danna's going to kill me when he hears about this...."

Smirking, I ran a careless hand through my hair, quirking a brow at Naruto and Kakashi.  "Are you going to attack or what?  I don't like wasting my time on weaklings, but I decided to make an exception... don't make me regret it."
