I threw myself against the wall and fell to the ground-panting and sweating-wanting to be able to do more but he worked me so hard I could be barely stand. He came over picked me up and said one more time.

“Seriously? Its my first time-really cant you cut the trainee some slack.” I practically begged.

“Off your ass woman.” Zane responded

And so I was. Zane managed to design some kind of obstacle course-says its to build up my endurance. So far its just been building up my annoyance, but one more time and then rest. Out then of no where someone took a swing at me.

“What the hell?” I shouted

“Try to take him down” Zane responded

“Your kidding right? I’ve been running this damn course now for the past hour-and now I have to fight this guy.” When I looked around to face him-all I got was a hit into my right shoulder-not enough to cause damage but damn I felt it.

“Fight woman. The guy you fought was bigger than him.”

“Be reasonable Zane those were different circumstances.”

“When you take him down-your training is done for the day.”

‘When I take him down…” I mumbled to myself. Okay focus-remember what Ross showed me in the preliminary training sessions. During the week I took longer lunch breaks to meet Ross at the studio and he gave me a breakdown of the different fighting styles and did basic boxing techniques and Brazilian jujitsu, his specialty. This guy was no amateur though, and he definitely wasn’t holding back. I was loosing terribly but I didn’t care I insisted that I could win this and I wasn’t gonna quit. It wasn’t until the man had me pinned me to the ground and asked if I wasn’t going to tap out. I told him “Never” that I realized that I believe it completely.

“Okay, we’re done here.” he shouted

“What?!” I looked up at my opponent with a serious but bewildered look, only to see him smiling down on me.

Ross then walked over to me and helped me up. “Training is done for the day.” he said.

“But Zane said not till he’s on the ground.”

“You were never expected to do that sweetie. You were expected to build up endurance to know what its like to reach your limit but still not to give in.”

“OMG-you cant be serious. Hidden trainings within trainings.”

“Something like that I suppose. Hey what you doing tonight there’s a party going on I know.”

“Sorry I got plans with a girlfriend, which reminds me I got to get going. Maybe next time okay-have fun.” I hugged Ross and then bolted.

Half a hour later I was home-I left the car on the road I only planned to be here long enough to grab a shower and the things I would need for later and then head over to Ella’s to get ready. Caleb and I didn’t talk the night before-so I decided to send him a message to say tonight I’ll be out with Ella so we’ll talk tomorrow.
