I was in such a such a great mood after that elevator ride with Rachelle. She came back to find me-she still cared, even after everything- she still wanted me. My second chance is here, I’ve been going over in my mind for the past two months, every time I looked at that little heart, asking myself if I did the right thing.

My head always told me yes-but my heart ached for her and it was unbearable. When I picked up on her perfume in the that elevator I thought it was just mere coincidence, but when she spoke and I would know her angelic voice anywhere. I had planned to leave-it was the logical thing to do-my head was telling me again to walk away, don’t get anymore involved- but I couldn’t I need to be inside that elevator and see her again- and if she would allow me to hold her.

It’s laughable I haven’t even been a on a proper date with this woman and I’m already falling for her. I just have to remind myself it will be over soon and she and I could have a real shot.

“Boss?” Max stepped in breaking my thoughts.

“Max.”

“ I just wanted to know what are you going to do about last night? The men are getting restless-it seems lately nothing is going right.”

“Max? Just come out with what you really want to say.” I was getting a little pissed off with Max these days, he was getting more defiant these past weeks and I knew what he wanted to say already.

“We’re just a little concerned that you’re a little distracted.”

“Distracted?” I started to laugh “You can’t be serious.”

“I’m not trying to overstep my boundary or anything-but ever since that bitch…”

“That is overstepping the boundary Max. First of, my personal life is not any of your business or anyone else’s. Secondly, we’ve kept our distance since the last time she came here.”

“Really?” Normally I have a lot more patience with Max, but at this point I’m about ready to take aim and remind him exactly who is in charge here. “Well even so-she is obviously still a problem-whether she is around or not. That night we found her running with that other son of a bitch Ross- we should have dealt with her then.”

“Should we?” I sat in silence and allowed him to continue his little tirade.

“Then when we when we should have been doing damage control you went off with her on a date to the fucking Carnival.” How the fuck did he know that.

“You followed us?! After I specifically told you to disappear that day,” then the realization hit me “You‘re the one that Rachelle ” This was not a good sign, he is seeing too much and now I’m concerned how much he does if he has been tailing me unaware.

“You were acting strange…”

“I don’t give a fuck-if I turn up with my underwear on my head and barking like a dog, when I give you an order-you listen. Are you forgetting who is in charge here?” I was seething at this point, I stood up behind the desk, my hands in fists leaning against my desk.
