I haven't slept well in about a thousand years. When you're almost butchered by the only people who are supposed to protect you, you learn to sleep never so soundly.
Which is why I heard the front door open before the person took the first careful step inside the guest house.
I was strung tight. If it were Cole, Jax or even Daniel they wouldn't have been so quiet opening the door to their own house. The silent way they carefully shut the screen door behind them just screamed breaking in.
I got up from the mattress with practiced grace and wrapped my hand around Vegeta, my trustie bat hugged tightly with barb wire. I stalked towards the door hoping to give Hades a proper introduction to this things face.
I crept down the hall my lithe movements a huge contradiction to my screaming heart. I wasn't in any way scared. I just hated cabin style houses to begin with. I felt set up for disaster the moment I walked in here.
I watch way to much TV.
I peeked around the hall as the dark figure rifled through the dining room drawers. With a careful touch he shut all the draws and walked towards me. I held Hades at the ready listening for the steps inching closer and closer with each beat of my heart.
I swung and the sickening crack of wood thundered the air.
"Hey!" Yelled...Jackson? "What the hell Lucy!"
A light flicked on as Jackson hit the switch. His face was ghostly white I couldn't imagine why. He was the one creeping around in here. "What...the hell Lucy!"
"What are you doing here? I could have killed you!" I dropped Vegeta suddenly not trusting him in my hands.
Jackson took a few deep breaths and looked at the bat. "Oh my god Lucy!" He let out a breath as he looked up at the splintered wall above his head. "ARE YOU SERIOUS!"
"WHY ARE YOU SNEAKING AROUND LIKE A CREEP!" I took a breath, my hands were shaking. I walked towards the kitchen flicking on the lights and grabbing the coffee maker or as I lovingly named him, Captain Thorn.
"I'm sorry I didn't want to wake you! I left my phone charger in here and I just wanted to grab it." He pulled out a chair. "Can I have some too?" He said pointing to Thorn. I frowned, Thorn was not into three ways.
I sighed grabbing a cup for my unwelcome companion. "Do you even know anyone to require the use of a phone?" I hiss still rattled that I literally almost took off his head. Well not me! I claim no responsibilities for what Vegeta would have done to his head.
You can't control the Prince of all Sayains!
He winced and I instantly regretted the comment. "Uh ouch! No it has my music on it which sounds an infinitely better than listening to your sister do it rooms down from you."
"Ach! Gross." I mock gag. "Why is your charger here anyways?"
"Because I lived out here until you came and they kicked me out to make room for you. Which is fine I don't mind," He so minded. "I just hate Cole with the fire of a thousand suns and every time I see his face it makes me want to do violent things to it."
He says this as a joke, but I feel the blood drain from my limbs at the thought. I swallowed my fear and throw on a smile instead. I turn on Thorn and sit while waiting for him to spit out the nectar of the gods.
"Why Cole, you'd think you'd hate the vampire who is currently banging your sister." He glares at me.
"I don't want to hear those words ever leave that pretty mouth again." He growls. "And it's because Cole had sex with Patience, despite knowing how I felt about her."

RomanceI started this story as vampire diaries fanfiction and sort of grew it from there. I wondered what would happen if Klaus would've been a female and expanded on that idea. This is my first time writing a book so be kind ( :
