Chapter 23

"You don't understand Lucy. " He pants as the knife that grazes lovingly against his vital organs. "She said she could help me bring Liz back, but I tried to stop her I didn't know what to do. I realized when I brought you here how wrong it was."

He coughed, choked, spit up a little blood.

He was such an actress.

"I love you Lucy I really do I am so sorry, I didn't mean for all this. She didn't tell me at first that she wanted to kill you please believe that."

"There's something else we need to tell you." Daniel says cuts in eyeing Landon with disgust.

"What now?" Rory steps out of the house her eyes are red rimmed. Rory looks at me her silver eyes dark like steel with fury.

"A Geryon just manapped Cole. I don't understand. How the hell are there Geryon here Lucy, this is insane." She shrieked. She balled her fists shaking uncontrollable.

My body flashed between ice and fire. "A Geryon? As in the dragon guardians of hell took Cole! Oh my gods Landon what have you done?" I take my heal off the blade. He sits up and winces and pulls the knife out of his chest I let him.

Killing him yet won't solve anything.

"What happened between yesterday and today. Yesturday you probably would've snapped my neck and brought me yourself." What a pathetic piece of shit! I stopped though, realizing what had changed.  It all made sense. "She did it, didn't she?" A malicious sneer covers my face. "How did she look Landon?" My voice dripped with venom. "How pretty was her face when she went to attack you? Was she as ripe as I thought she'd be?"

I shook my head. "Landon I didn't raise her because I was trying to protect you. You just thought I was being petty and jealous. You were the ONLY PERSON I cared about for centuries. Even when you hurt me, I was there for you. The one person on earth who was trying to protect you from ever experiencing that. Did you kill her?"

"Stop it!" The bark in his voice startled me a little. "Lucy I'm sorry I didn't mean for this I didn't realize. Once it got to deep I didn't know what to do. I should have listened."

Silence coated the room and I was shaking my voice hoarse from screaming crying screaming and crying. I was at my limit. I was becoming absolutely manic.

"Danny I have to figure out how to get Cole and Jackson back." My heart was ready to explode. Sickness crept into the core of me.

"Lucy listen I'm sorry" Landon went to reach for me.

"Don't just...don't. This is your fault Landon all you had to do was tell me what was going on but you thought you would pull a fast one on me and ya know what! You almost did because I trusted you. Congratulations you PRICK! Fooling me because I trusted you with my life. I'm just sorry I didn't realize how little it meant to you. What does she want she told me you knew?"

He kicked the dirt on the ground looking like a little kid. "She wants to open a portal to hell to bring her creatures here. Lucy I thought you could stop it before this happened. I didn't realize at the time what or rather who she was."

That stopped me. I just figured it was some demon. "Who is she?"

"Lilith."

That one word froze me. I was in some deep shit. "The princess of hell... of course. That sounds like the day I've been having." I turned towards the house planning the arsenal of weapons I would need.

He yells after me. "I didn't realize until it was too late it was a trap or even who she was. Honestly."Meaningless words falling on deaf ears.

"Well thank you for being honest." I mocked. "Get the hell out of this town. I never want to see you again. Ever!"
