Team 9 had just come back from a C-ranked mission, and they were exhausted. They had to escort a merchant to the Land of Rice Patties, which was about 2 days away from the Leaf Village.
"I'm exhausted." Masashi said.
"Was that the last mission?" Kyari asked.
"Yes," Miyuki-sensei said, "but before you go, I want to tell you about the Chuunin Exams."
"What are the Chuunin Exams?" Satoshi asked.
"The Chuunin Exams are held twice a year.This is the exam you must pass in order to become a Middle Ninja, or a Chuunin. It is a 3 part test, and is held for lower ninjas from any village. I think all of you are strong enough now to become Chuunin."
"So what do we have to do to take the Chunnin Exams?" Masashi asked.
"First, in order for any of you take the Chuunin Exams, all of you must apply. You must apply as a 3 man team. Once you apply, you will take the exam."
Miyuki handed Kyari, Masashi, and Satoshi their application forms.
"Before you fill out your forms, are all of you going to apply?"
"Yes." they said firmly.

The next day, Team 9 went to the academy where registration was taking place. While they were waiting in line, Kyari saw Hinata.
"Hi, Hinata! Are you applying for the Chuunin Exams too?"
"Yeah. Kurenai-sensei thinks that we have improved a lot, and that we are strong enough to take the Chuunin Exams." Hinata said in her soft, quiet voice.
It was soon Kyari's turn to register. She was told to keep her paperwork until the first exam. After she registered, she said "bye" to Hinata, and headed home.
'I can't wait.' Kyari thought.
