The next day, Kyari woke up very early to get ready for the Chuunin Exams. Yesterday, Miyuki-sensei had said that they wouldn't need a weapon that day, so Kyari didn't bring her sword. She wore a turquoise T-shirt and a black jacket with black leggings and her Leaf ninja headband.

When Kyari got there, there were a lot of people. There were ninjas from different villages like the Sound village and the Sand village. After a few minutes of looking around, she didn't see Masashi or Satoshi, but she did see Hinata.

"Hi, Hinata!"

"Hi, Kyari!"

"Do you know what the first test is?"

" I think it's a written exam."

'Why would you need to take a written exam to become a Chuunin?'  Kyari thought.

A few minutes later, Kyari saw Masashi and Satoshi. After they said "hi" to each other, the 1st exam proctor came in.

"It's time to begin. I am Ibiki Morino, your proctor. From this moment, your worst enemy."

'This guy is creepy.' Kyari thought.

Many gasps were heard from the room. Ibiki then scolded some ninja from the Sound Village for fighting with some other ninja.

"Knock it off! Who told you you could fight! Do you want to fail before we've even begun?!"

"Sorry. It's our first time. Guess we're  jumpy." one of the Sound ninja said carelessly.

"Hmph. I'll say this once, so listen up." Ibiki said sternly. "There will be no combat between candidates. No attacking each other without the permission of your proctor. Even then, fatal force is strictly prohibited. Anyone who even thinks of messing with me will be disqualified immediatly. Got it?! Now if we're ready, we'll proceed to the first stage of the Chuuin Exams. Hand over your paperwork, and in return you'll each be given a number. This number determines where you will sit. We'll start the written test once you're all seated."

After about 10 minutes, everyone was seated. Kyari sat next to one ninja from the Sand village, and another ninja from the Rain village.  Everyone was given 2 pencils and an eraser. Kyari was seat number 62 and her  teammates were in seats in the 20s and 30s, and Hinata was in seat 54 next to Naruto. Ibiki tapped a piece of chalk on the board.

"Everyone, eyes front. There are few rules you need to be aware of. And I won't answer any questions, so you better pay attention the first time."

'Why does he have to be so strict?' Kyari thought.

"Alright. Rule number one: the written part of the exam is conducted on a point reduction system. Contrary to what some of you may be used to, you will all begin the test with a perfect score, 10 points. 1 point will be deducted for each question you get wrong. So if you miss 3, your final score will be 7. Rule number two: teams will pass or fail based on the total scores of all 3 members.

"What?! Wait a second! You're saying we all get scored as a ream?!" Sakura yelled out.

"Silence! I have my reasons, so shut up and listen. Rule number three: the sentinels you see positioned around the room watch you carefully for any signs of cheating. And for every incident they spot, they will subtract two points from the culprit score. Be warned, their eyes are extremely sharp, and if they catch you 5 times, you'll be dismissed before the tests are even scored. Anyone fool enough to be caught by the sentinels doesn't deserve to be here.  If you want to be considered Chuunin shinobi, then show us what exceptional shinobi you can be. One more thing. If any candidate should get a zero and fail the test, the entire team fails. The final question won't be given out until 15 minutes before the end of the testing period. You'll have 1 hour total. Begin!"

Kyari turned her paper over and read the first question. She read the question.

'It looks like you have to decipher a code. I've never seen a code like this before, I'll just skip to the next one. This doesn't make sense either.'

Kyari saw that the Rain village ninja was answering the questions easily.

'Since you only get two points taken away from your score if you cheat, I'll try to cheat without being caught.'

Kyari used a water jutsu to create a small puddle on the wall so that she could look at the reflection of the Rain ninja's paper.

'Perfect. She has most of the answers, so now we have a better chance of passing.'

After Kyari finished copying down the answers, she turned her paper over, and began to fall asleep. Before she fell asleep she heard a commotion near the back of the room. Someone had been caught cheating 5 times, and they were disqualified. She quickly looked up hoping it wasn't any of her team members. Thankfully, it wasn't one of them, and she soon fell asleep.

"It is mow time for the 10th and final question." Ibiki said.

Kyari then woke up.

"The 10th and final question is..."
