Realization-Chapter 4

Rose POV

Yesterday was a pretty exciting day, a new student, my team got in trouble... eheh... I studied a lot, and we prepared for the Dragon class competition, which, is today! I'm super excited yet kind of nervous... OH I forgot, I got the new shoes! like, the ones that were in the store that I couldn't get in the morning yesterday, and it was perfect because they only had one pair left and it was in my size! Anyways, the dragon race, School is starting late today because of it because we're supposed to practice beforehand but as me and my team already practiced as much as we could this past week we're not too rushed with practicing, at least, not me, Travis, Joy, or Hawk... Buuut Astoria seems to be making this a big deal so I guess that statement wasn't exactly true...

"Oh, my grade... Oh my grade, oh my grade!!" Astoria kept pacing and repeating her phrase

"Calm down Astoria, it's not like our grades are terrible anymore" Travis said, sitting casually on a branch (Yes, he was in a tree)

"Yes, but they aren't perfect." Astoria said

"As long as we have fun and do our best it will be okay, that's what counts, right? It's not all about grades" Joy intervened, causing Astoria to sigh

"Yeah, sorry, you're right, we've practiced long and hard and as long as we do our best and have fun, we may not get the best grade, but in the end, it will be a success!" Astoria said, seeming to be giving a pep talk to herself... in the form of a speech, Hawk and I chuckled lightly in response, I was surprised not to see Travis amused but as he was encouraging Astoria to be confident in the first place I suppose it made sense. 

Class was about to start in an hour, everyone seemed somewhat nervous but at the same time I knew we were excited, it had been a long time since we've done anything like this, so it was exciting, they walked over to the dragon arena 

"You ready, guys?" I asked, a somewhat forced smile on my face

"As ready as I can be!" Astoria said, looking determined 

My smile became a natural one 

"Let's do this!" Travis said

Joy and Hawk also responded, and when class started we were confident and determined.

"Alright, so as you all know, we have a dragon competition today in three different categories you will compete in, speed, training, and the relationship with your dragon, all three of these will be needed for the official school competition, so, whichever team wins, will be put against other schools." Beast explained

The competitions were pretty simple, we started with the classic race of speed, in which Vicky tried to slow us down with by going after Hawk's dragon, which didn't really work because in the Astoria and Travis won, as I went after Hawk

Next, we then had to train our dragons to do something, I trained mine to do the disco dance! but I didn't really pay attention to anyone else, however, in the end, Hawk won 2nd place after.. Vicky... which was, admittedly a disappointment for my team as we knew she had something up her sleeve ((dragon pendant, not sure how she got it back...)) 

Then for the last one, your relationship with your dragon, everyone was a bit confused about this but I felt pretty confident about my relationship with my dragon, even though I wasn't sure what we were supposed to do, we had to do a bunch of trust tests and I got extra points for my dragon wearing shoes as, dragons hate shoes, so in the end I got first place while Petal, the new girl, got second place which was shocking considering this was the first day with her dragon! And because of that, we held another round of contests against Petal's team, and mine for the next day... 

after a long day of the dragon competition, we agreed to hang out at the Cinderella castle, for a few different reasons...

"So what exactly were we planning on doing today anyway?" I asked, not really knowing why Astoria wanted to hang out 

"Well, for one thing, it's been a while since we've hung out casually, and I wanted to talk about the competition and how we're going to handle Vicky, as her team will also be included in the extra competition tomorrow..." Astoria responded

"So basically we met up to come up with a plan?" Travis said

"Correct" Astoria said

"Alright then, what's the plan?" Hawk asked

Astoria first gave us a recap of how everything was going to be setup, and we decided who would be best for each challenge, as this time we were going to be using all 5 members of our group for individual tests to choose the true best team. We realized that with the way it was set up we couldn't use half of the team for defense and the other half for offence like we did for the dragon race.

"How about, for example, when it wasn't Travis's turn, he could wait at the bottom to catch the person whose turn it is or Hawk and Travis could take turns, as Travis is strong and Hawk is famous for saving princesses?" Joy suggested

"That could work, but we need to go against magic with magic... there is no way of being sure what Vicky will do... so maybe..." Astoria was saying when I interrupted her

"Actually, could we just ask the teachers to make a barrier to prevent the use of magic? And we could hmmm.... We could use Joy's frog magic as an excuse for why?"

"I suppose we could... but what if Vicky found a way out of it?" Astoria responded

we ended up having a long conversation about this until the conversation somehow drifted off into talking about crushes, and it sort of went from LingLing being brought up, Travis zoning out, Astoria teasing him about having a crush, then I asked her who her crush was, and that kind of led to her asking me who I liked

"Why are we even talking about this!?" I couldn't help but shout after Astoria asked me who I was interested in as revenge.

"I could say the same to you!" Astoria responded with a bit of a pout, then everyone broke out in laughter at the same time, we talked a while longer, and it was starting to get late, in the end, we weren't able to think of a solid plan but we thought of a few things we could do as backup in case Vicky used one of the spells she has used in the past we just hoped she wouldn't come up with a new spell to use on us.

So I said goodbye to them as they went home and got ready to head back to earth myself, trying to think of an excuse for why I was gone so late, as I didn't want to worry my mother about Vicky Broomstick, I ended up just telling her that we were coming up with a game-plan for round two of the race and I just left out the Vicky part so it was quite a bit easier than it would normally be to explain.

When I went up to my room I thought back on our crushes conversation and of when Astoria asked me who I liked... I don't know... I thought to myself, I lay down on my bed asking myself if I did like anyone, I kept thinking of Hawk and telling myself that that would be impossible for me to like him There's no way I could like him, I mean, he's only the dreamiest... most heroic... sweetest boy I know... Dang... I think I do like him... After a while, I had tried to tell myself why I didn't like him, and in the end, I just proved that I did, and I just shoved my face in my pillow, most likely blushing
