Hope this one is better.
Third person~
Luke never liked being shy. If he could choose to not be he would, but it's not that easy. He's tried to interact with others but it's always ended up where he was in awkward situations. Growing up the way he was, Luke was left out in a lot of things, he missed out on most of the normal high school life. Only focusing on school and trying not to get hit in the hallways. He didn't have any friends until the last two years. That's where Casey came in. He had just moved to the town and when seeing Luke getting pummeled to death by the jerk of the school, Casey felt the need to step in. Ever since then they were practically joined at the hip. Casey would try his best to make sure Luke wouldn't get beat up and they'd spend their lonely lunches together.
It took quite a long time for Luke to talk to Casey let alone open up. About the middle of their last year, Casey had met some people at a party. Rena and her sister Nia. The three had become close and soon the sisters introduced Casey to their band members, Miranda and Iain. Casey played a little guitar growing up and showed them what he could do. A few weeks later he was in the band. Luke was happy, he was happy that his friend had other people and was in a band. Luke knew it was one of Casey's dreams to be in a band. So, Luke held his breath and met the band. They were nice. They were very talkative and outgoing. Something Luke wasn't, but he was okay with that and so were they. Casey was Luke's best friend and he knew the curly headed male wouldn't leave him. Because Casey was all he had.
Luke knew how good the band was. He knew it was inevitable that the band would get signed and end up touring. He knew that one day Casey would have to leave him. That's why Luke decided to man up and try and make at least one friend.
Calum.
So, that's what he's doing, waiting for Calum at some cafe a few blocks down from his house. Luke had already finished his coffee. Calum was late. Not hours late but a few minutes and it was making Luke think that maybe this was a bad idea. But as soon as the bell over the door chimed and icy blue eyes met the soft brown ones, Luke couldn't help but be happy.
"Hey, sorry I'm late. Ash and I got called into work and I had to practically beg him to cover for me." The Brown-headed male apologized as he slid into the booth across from the blonde.
"U-uh its okay..y-you didn't have to come. I don't want you to get into trouble or anything with work. Or your boyfriend."
The sound of laughter filled the quiet cafe as Calum couldn't help it. As soon as the word 'Boyfriend' fell off Luke's lips he was laughing. The brunette found it hilarious. Ashton. His boyfriend. Ridiculous. They hardly could stand being friends he couldn't even imagine being lovers.
Luke seemed confused. He knew it was something he said but he didn't know what.
"Oh wow..ha that's a good one. Ashton and I-we aren't together. Just really good friends." Calum spoke once he collected himself.
Luke was more than relieved to hear those words come out of Calum's mouth.
The rest of the evening was nice and quiet just how they liked it. Calum ordered himself a coffee and Luke another one. They made small talk while sipping on their drinks. Talking about the little things like what their favorite colors were or their favorite bands, which seemed to lead them to a conversation about a certain band and who was hotter.
After ten minutes of arguing, Luke's phone went off making their conversation come to an end. Looking down at his phone Luke realized it wasn't his best friend. Who he only thought it could be calling him. But he seemed to forget about the blonde boy from last night.
