Today was the last day I could sneak to see Alex. Tomorrow morning his dad will be at the hospital to pick him up. I don't want to say Goodbye... But I know I'll have to. I carry two cups of coffee as I ride up to Alex's floor in the elevator, surrounded by seven other people. I was uncomfortable. But if it means I could be with Alex, I'd do anything. As The elevator doors open, revealing Alex's floor, I was the only one to step out. I sighed with relief knowing that I was away from people. Away from crowded areas. I walk down the long hallway until I reached the room he's been staying in. I knocked slightly and listened.
"Come in!" I heard Alex exclaim. As soon as I heard him, I pushed the door opened with my foot. Alex was sitting up in bed, his feet dangling off the side. "Oh hey y/n." a bright smile appeared across his face.
"I brought you a coffee." I smiled back in the process of handing him the hot cup. I watched as he grabbed a hold of the cup with the huge smile still smeared across his face. I sat down beside him as I set my coffee down on his night stand. "So.. You're leaving tomorrow right?" I questioned sadly, trying to make conversation.
"Yeah. I can't wait." Alex responded before taking a small sip of his coffee.
"Has your dad even come to see you yet?" I asked.
"N-no." he hesitated to speak. It's ridiculous. Deputy Standall thinks I'm bad influence. That I'll become a negativity in his life. But if anything, he is bringing him negativity. Your son has been in a coma for the past few months and now that he's finally awake you don't come to fucking see him? You can't be that fucking busy.
"Are you still going to your normal school?" I questioned, looking down at my hands.
"I think so. Why?"
"No reason" I shake my head. I didn't know what to say. He doesn't remember me. I can't talk to him about things like I use to. "How's your head?"
"It's feeling better.. Can I ask you something?" he responded, instantly being followed by a question. I nodded my head in agreement as I looked up at him, grabbing my coffee. "Uhm.." he thought for a moment. "Nevermind. I figured it out myself."
"Okay?" I said in a questionable tone of voice. I wonder what he was going to ask.. I continue to look at him for a moment longer before taking a sip of the coffee in my hands.
"Thank you for the coffee by the way." Alex smiled, nudging my arm with his elbow.
"Anytime." I smiled. My smile instantly died down as Deputy Standall walked into the room unexpectedly.
"Jesus Y/n! Do you not know how to fucking listen?" he angrily questioned, grinding his teeth.
"It's not your say on who he talks to. Alex can be friends with whomever he wants. He's 18." I rolled my eyes, looking over at Alex who was staring at Deputy Standall.
"I am still in charge. I told you not to be here. Not to talk to him. You need to respect my word." Deputy Standall talked on. I rolled my eyes even more. "Leave." he demanded with irritation.
I sighed heavily before standing up. "I'll see you later Alex." I faked a smile as I held onto the coffee cup, leaving the room.

*Alex's pov*
I watched as Y/n left the room. She walked past dad and I could almost feel the tension. I noticed as Dad smirked evilly as she passed.
"Are you fucking serious?" I questioned, looking up at him.
"Don't use that language with me." he spoke, pushing aside the fact that he treated y/n like shit.
"You can't just tell me who I can and can't be friends with. It's my decision not yours." I informed him. I could tell I'm pissing him off even more, but I'm not wrong.
"Out of everyone in the world, she is one of the only people I do not want you around. She's bad influence."
"Yeah sure.. She's the bad influence when you haven't even came to see me until fucking today. What a fucking father you are." I angrily explain, rolling my eyes deeply.
"You don't even know the girl!" he violently yelled. I could see the veins popping out of his forehead plus his neck. It was disturbing to look at.
"I feel like I've known her forever." I stated, my voice becoming soft and peaceful. I look down at my coffee and run my finger tips along the side. "For some reason, she's being so nice to me. Even though at first I was a dick towards her." I shake my head.
"Well it's too bad we're moving then." Dad smirked evilly once again. He's an asshole. I'm not leaving.
"No. I'm staying. Even if I become homeless. I'm staying with someone who means the world to me."
"I should mean the world to you. I am your father." Dad stated.
"That's bullshit. Sure, you're my father. But you definitely don't act like it. Y/n has missed school this whole week just to come and visit me. And this has been the first time I've seen you in a while. What a father right?" I laughed sarcastically. "Just leave."
Shockingly dad actually left. He stood there for a minute or two, but he did leave. I drink more of my coffee as I sit back in bed, pulling my knees to my chest. What did I just say? Did I really say Y/n means the world to me? Means more to me than dad does? What's happening to me... I barely know this girl. What is this familiar feeling. A feeling I swear I felt before... For someone who I cant think of. Is it her? Do I know y/n?
