Chapter 10

It was about 11:30 on a Friday morning. We had the day to ourselves and I planned on doing nothing. I was just laying in bed watchng Netflix when I got a text from none other than Ryan. He said, 'Hey Riley! Wanna go to Starbucks this afternoon around 1?' I thought he was kidding back at the airport. He really wanted to hang out? 'Sure! I will meet you there.' I replyed. 'Cool, see you there Ri!' I smiled at the text. He called me Ri! I still had about 45 minutes till' I needed to get ready so I was going to get a snack. I walked downstairs and saw Hailey and Ashton kissing on the couch. "EW! No PDA in the Living Room please!" I yelled shielding my eyes. Me and Hailey were staying at our own place while we were here. "Sorry," she said "I thought you were upstairs!" Ashton chuckled while Hailey got up. "So, are you losers going to stay here all day or what?" I asked looking in the fridge. "We were going to stay here, what about you smarty pants." she said grabbing two sodas. "I am going to Starbucks with-" I stopped myself. Hailey would overreact if I told her. "With who?" she asked raising her eyebrows. "Just me, uh...I going to go back upstairs now." I said backing up towards the stairs. "With you Riley? Oh wait, with the guy from the airport right? What was his name agian?" Ashton asked smirking. "WHO RILEY?! WHO?!" Hailey yelled. "Nobody," I said about to charge up the stairs. "Ri! You are blushing!" Hailey said. This time I charged up the stairs. 

Now it was about 12:15 so I needed to get ready now. I put on some light skinny jeans, a light flannel shirt, and a crewneck sweatshirts that said 'California Love' on it. Then I bottoned the flannel all the way up and put the collar over the neck of the sweatshirt. Then I put on some grey Vans and grabbed my phone and wallet then headed downstairs. Once again they were kissing. "Ok, I distinctly remember saying no PDA in the living room!" I said grabbing my car keys off the counter. "Ooo, look who is going on her date!" Ashton said leaning away from Hailey. I shook my head and said"It's not a date, I barley know him." "Except that they told each other their life stories on the plane ride," Ashton added like it was nothing. I rolled my eyes and headed for they car. "Be careful Ri!" Hailey shouted out after me. "I will!" I yelled back.

~At Starbucks~

When I arrived at Starbuck I was excited and nervous at the same time. I had only met him once, even though he new everything about me. And I knew everything about him. Otherwise than that we are complete strangers. As soon as I walked in I saw Ryan waiting in line. He had not seen me yet so I swerved my way through the line and behind him. Then I tazored him in the sides and said "Boo!" He jumped and wigled himself away from my grip. I was laughing so hard I almost peed myself. When I was done laughing I looked at Ryan who had is arms crossed and his jaw clenched. "Hello too you too Riley," he said looking down apon me. I was pretty tall, but he was like Luke's hight so he towered over me. "Hi," I said giggling. We ordered our drinks and sat on the couch downstairs. It was a big Starbucks. We mostly talked about my music. "So, you know exactly what I do, but what do you want to do?" I asked smirling my drink around in my plastic cup. "I want to be a professional photographer," he said and I smiled and widened my eyes. "Really, I love photography!" I said taking a sip of my drink. "Yea, me too. But my dad has different ideas," he said, "He wants me to be a lawyer or doctor, but that stuff just puts me too sleep!" he said tilting his head back. "Why don't you just tell him that?" I asked. "He dosn't listen too me like you do he is... boring and only cares about succes and money. Not about passion." He said looking into my eyes. I was about to respond when my phone started to ring. Ryan motioned for me too take it. "Hello?" I said answering the phone. "Riley it is Calum, where are you?" Calum asked. "None of your businees, what do you want?" I was a bit annoyed if you couldn't tell. "I want to hang out, wanna come over?" he asked. "I am busy, see you tomorrow Cal," I said hanging up. "Sorry about that Ryan, I am always so busy," I said turning towards him. "I know, every time I text you your busy," he said. Wait, what? "This is the first time you have ever texted me, right?" I asked. "No, but everytime I text you you add penguin emojis," he said. So it was Luke! "Omg no I think that was Luke, Ryan." I said like he might be mad. "Why would he say you were busy?" he asked. "I don't know, I lways thought he hated me." I answered. He just chuckled. "Riley, he likes you." "What? Luke? Never!" I said shaking my head. He just smiled. "So, about your dad. Maybe I could talk to him. He dosn't really know me, but maybe that is good?" I asked changing the subject. He smiled. "Yea, that would be awesome! Maybe he would listen to you." Ryan said.

Me and Ryan were still at Starbucks when I got a text from Hailey. 'Hey, it is almost 5. Where are you?' I looked at the clock. "Oh Ryan! We have been here for almost 5 hours!" I said getting up. "Oh wow! Want me to drive you?" he asked. "No I brought my car. Next time though." I said smiling. "So when can I see you again?" he asked hopefuly. "Actually Ryan, I go back to Australia in 2 days." I said sadly. The smile broke off his face and quickley turned into a frown. "Oh, well then, this is goodbye." he said quietly. "Ryan, don't make this too hard. Please." I said. "Lets just turn around on three. We hugged then counted, "1...2...3" on three I turned and he kissed me on the cheek. "Bye Riley," he wispered then took off. I smiled the whole ride home.
