Chapter 5: Marvel's Party

Clove POV:

Tonight is Marvel's party which means I can finally find out who he likes. I invited Glimmer over to help me get ready. "Hey Clovey, I brought you that dress." Glimmer says to me. I wanted one of her dresses for the party. She takes it out an sure enough it's the one I wanted. Its a strapless gold dress that is fitting at the top but puffs out at the hips.It has gold sequins all over it. I love it.

"Oh my God, thank you so much Glimmer." I hug her.

"No problem, you can keep it if you want."

"Thanks, again."

"Anytime, so who do you like?" Glimmer asks me. Should I tell her. She did used to date him. Does she still like him? Surely not, she has Marvel. I decide I will

tell her.

"Promise me you'll keep it a secret. You can't tell anyone, not even Marvel. Cato doesn't even know who it is."

"If Cato doesn't know, are you sure you want me to know?"

"I trust you. Now promise me."

"Okay, I promise not to tell anyone, not even Marvel, who you like."

"Great. You're gonna be shocked. Its Cato." Everything goes silent. Does she still like him? What have I done.

After 5 minutes of pure silence she finally says something. "Y'all would be so

cute. I'm gonna get y'all together." she starts gushing.

"Tonight, he's gonna ask the girl he likes out. I wanna know who it is. So we have to spy on him all night. Got it?' I ask her. She nods her head. "Great, now tell Marvel to ask him to stay the night and you can stay the night with me." she nods. and walks off. I can trust her, right?

~at the party~ Clove POV:

Since the party's at my house, I don't have to worry about being late. After me and Glimmer are ready, we go downstairs to help Marvel set up and get things ready. Mostly everybody's already here. When we go downstairs, I see him. Cato. He looks so hot in his dark and tight jeans and polo shirt. Why can't he be mine? "Um, Clover. You there? Seems like you were zoned out." Cato tells me.

"Yea, sorry. Just thinking about some things." I reply.

"Well, what kind of things?" he asks.

"None of your business." I tell him and walk away. I go over to Marvel. "How's things with Glimmer?" I ask him.

"She said yes and she said she was staying away from Katniss." he tells me. Katniss. I hope to god she ain't here.

"Yea, is Katniss here yet?" I ask him.

"I don't know. Go have fun." he tells me and pushes me away when Glimmer comes up to him. I roll my eyes and try to find Cato. The lights are off so it's hard to tell who's who. The music's really loud too so it's hard to hear anybody.

After i walk around some more, I bump into somebody. I can't see him that good but he has blonde hair and blue eyes. He's not as strong as Cato. "Hey, Clove right?" he asks me.

"Yea, what's your name?" I ask him.

"I'm Peeta Mellark. I hang with Katniss. You saw me at the mall the other day."

"Oh."

"Yea, do you want me to get you a drink or something?"

"No, I'm good thank you."

"Well, can I just say that you look beautiful. And I was wondering if you wanted to go get some lunch or something tomorrow." Oh no. He's asking me out. I don't wanna date him, I wanna date Cato.

"Sorry I have plans with my boyfriend." Why did I say that?

"Oh, who is he?" Oh shit. I'm not dating anybody. I say the one name that comes into mind.

"Oh, his name is Cato. You might know him. He used to date Glimmer and was at the mall too."

"Oh, you two look like a perfect couple." he says a little disappointed.

"Well, I think Katniss might want to go to lunch with you. You should ask her. I have to go to my boyfriend now. Nice talking to you, Peeta."

"You too, Clove." he says. I walk away and try to find Cato. I have to tell him what I told Peeta.

After about another 1O minutes, I hear someone call my name. "Clove! Clove! Over here!" they shout. I turn around and there he is. Cato. He comes up to me. "I've been looking for you everywhere." he tells me.

"Well you found me. I was looking for you too. We need to talk."

"I was thinking the same thing. Can we go to your room away from everybody." I nod my head and drag him to my room. The minute I close the door, I feel Cato's lips on my lips. I kiss him back. I've been waiting for this so long. After a couple of seconds, we break apart. "You have no idea how long I've waited to do that." he tells me.

"Me too. Cato, I love you and I have ever since I met you." he smiles.

"Me too. Now what did you want to tell me?"

"Well, that guy Peeta, who hangs out with Katniss, asked me out. I told him no because I had a boyfriend. He asked me who it was and I told him you. I guess we don't have to act anymore."

"Nope." he says and kisses me again. This time it gets rough. He slips his tongue in my mouth. We walk over to my bed and he lays on top of me. We continue making out. He starts to unzip my dress but I stop him. "Cato, I'm not ready for this. I love you, but can we wait?" I ask him.

"Sure, whenever you're ready." he says and kisses me again. I break away. "We should probably go back downstairs. Marvel might get the wrong idea." I tell him. He nods his head and we head downstairs.

The party goes on until midnight. Everyone leaves except Cato and Glimmer. They're spending the night. "Lets play truth or dare." Glimmer squeals. We all nod out heads and grab a bottle. Glimmer goes first. It lands on Cato.
