They sat around the fire talking about King Ned.
"Why would he endanger his only son, it does not make sense?" Kalin asked.
"True, he did send faked bandits to kill you, to think that the Prince would just watch you die, is insane." Kaston told them. We looked towards a tree close to camp were the Prince sat under.
"Why, is Dorian so mad?" Kalin asked them. They looked at her and Pyria said "I truly don't know."
"Maybe we should ask him." Orist told them. Kalin sighed and stood up and turned towards were the Prince was. Kalin gasped at the empty tree.
"He's gone." Kalin said running towards the tree.
"Were would he go?" Pyria asked franticly.
"Here are his boot prints, lets follow them." Kaston informed them. They walked through the forest until they came upon a lake. The moon sparkled in the water as it swayed in the light breezes and the quiet chirping of crickets, made it seem like a dream but standing before them was the Prince his armor gleaming in the moonlight. He sighed and turned around and spoke in a quiet voice.
"You are wondering why I am so mad, correct?" he questioned us.
"Yes, why are you mad it is unlike you?" Kalin asked. He gave a little chuckle.
"Yes I suppose it is, were to begin?" he said mostly to himself. "Well, when I was a boy my father use to spend all his time with mother and I but then he just stopped and I became nothing but a nooses to everyone so I was left alone." He stopped and looked at us and started again. "Except my older brother, he always had time for me until a rainy day." He trailed off. "You don't have to continue if you don't want to." Pyria told him. He looked up and sigh. "No, he went on a patrol, he was posted to teach me, how to wield the spear better but he never came home." He said looking at the lake. "I am so sorry Dorian." Kalin said. 'Thank you but this story isn't over." He told them. What else is there?" Orist asked. "My father didn't care that my brother died, he only cared about that he lost an heir, and they stared at him in shock as he continued "my mother soon died after and again he didn't care about how I felt only about himself but then but he remarried." He said in an agitated voice. "As you know, the queen got sick but survived but my father was never the same, he spends all his time in his study. I grew up with barely anyone that lives to this day so that is my story." He finish. We all stared in shock at his story.
"I have never heard of this." Kaston told him.
"Well it is a well keep secret in my family." The Prince said.
"Why is it a secret?" Kalin asked.
"My whole family are dying." He said looking away.
"What does that mean for you?" Pyria inquired.
"I don't know, I will die if there is someone doing this." The Prince said.
"That will never happen, you will never die by the hands of your family's fate, and I promise you that Dorian." Pyria told him. He stared at her in shock and said thank you Pyria. She had a slight blush on her cheeks.
"Well I think we should go to sleep." Orist told them.
"Yes, I agree." Dorian agreed. So they said their good nights and went to bed. Kalin jolted awake as she heard a scream outside her tent.
