Ace stayed locked in the basement for more than two hours. He wouldn't even let me come in after telling him more than a hundred times that Jessica wasn't with me to barge into the basement. So with that I convinced my mom and aunt Lex to take Jessica to the mall.
Once again I knocked on the door that lead to the basement to have Ace come out.
"Ace. Ace." I said and banged more on the door. "She's not here anymore so you can stop being a scaredy cat and just come out."
With that the door opened and he had a sort of angry look on his face.
"I am not a scaredy cat."
I laughed. "Yea right." And he glared at me. I patted his shoulder and told him, "You wanna go out and explore my hometown?"
We were in my dad's grey Toyota.
I had driven around my neighborhood and a few other areas to show Ace where I grew up, and told him a couple childhood stories that popped into my head based on the memories that I had in some locations.
"And over here we have Target. I'm pretty sure you are very fond of that." I said with a smile and he smiled back muttering something that I didn't quite hear. "What was that?" And I turned to look at him as I came into a stop light.
"Sexy beast. I said sexy beast."
And that's when I remembered what had happened the first time we shopped together. He had given me his phone number with that name.
I could feel my cheeks get a little hot.
"Do you still have my name like that?" He questioned.
"I won't tell you." I said, not wanting to admit to the truth and be embarrassed because I actually still had his name like that on my phone.
"Oh I see. Then I'll figure it out myself." He said and I rose my brow. What was he gonna do?
Just then, my phone started to ring. I had put it in the cars cup holder and when I looked to see the caller ID, it read Sexy Beast. I immediately blushed. Oh no.
Ace laughed beside me. "Aha! You still have it!"
I face palmed myself as the light turned green. I drove us into Targets parking lot.
"Yea I forgot to change it." I said quite nervously and he shook his head.
"No you didn't. You just find me attractive. Am I right?"
I didn't answer him.
"I'll take that as a yes." He said. "Wouldn't be the first time."
Ugh he was right.
I found a parking space near Targets entrance and quickly got off the car with Ace catching up to me.
I locked my dad's car behind me and tucked the car keys into my jeans.
"So are we here to look or buy?" Ace questioned beside me.
"Both." I said. "You have any money?"
He nodded.
We entered Target and it wasn't too full. I hadn't come here in a long time.
We walked past the women's section and a few outfits caught my eye but I didn't stop by to take a closer look.
"Ooo that'd look good on you." I heard Ace say and I looked to where he was pointing. It was a two piece black bikini. I playfully hit his shoulder and he laughed which I had to smile at. "Are you gonna get it?" He said and at this point I wanted to go along with him.
"Only if you can buy it for me."
He gave me a look of surprise at my sudden sentence. "So that's a yes?"
I shrugged and he took that as a yes, walking up to where the bikini was.
Okay now I wasn't so sure about having gone along with this whole bikini thing.
I saw him take a hold of the bikini and observe the fabric and the way it looked. Then I saw him look at the price and smile.
I walked over to where he was and he showed me the price.
"It's at a discount. I'm definitely getting this for you." He said and took the bikini with him. I widened my eyes. I thought he wasn't being serious.
I wanted to tell him to put it back but there would be no way to convince him.
I sighed and went over to catch up to where he was.
We both continued to walk and passed by the games section to the men's clothes. Ace took a stop there so I followed him.
He went to look at the shirts, to the pants, and oh boy, the boxers.
He picked up some packages to look at and then put them back. He also observed some white shirts which he seemed to have a lot of. I mean, he was wearing one right now. I don't think he needed any more of those.
As he continued to walk, there was a somewhat big poster of a man modeling a pair of boxers with a nice muscular body. I couldn't help myself and took a quick glance at it but Ace caught what I did. Damn it.
"Like what you see? You know, I could do the same if you would just ask." He said and I looked his way to see that he lifted his shirt up to show his perfect toned abs. My eyes widened at his sudden action and I slapped his hand that held his shirt up.
"Ace! We're in public, don't do that." I said in a hushing tone. He chuckled.
"Are you up to my offer though? You could touch them if you want." Ace said and reached for my hand but I swatted his arm away.
"Not here." I quietly hissed.
"Oh, so does that mean your open to do it in your basement?" He said in a suggesting tone, not seeming to get the hint that this was not okay to talk about at the moment.
I pinched the bridge of my nose already getting flustered with him. "No, I didn't say that."
"But your open to do it?"
At this point I didn't care. I gave him a fake smile and sarcastically said, "Sure! I'm open to it."
His face lit up. He wasn't getting the hint.
"Will I get something in return from you?" He asked quite hopeful.
"You will. When pigs fly."
