You Can Say

This place isn't home,

I want to scream when i'm alone.

But there's no one to hear me,

Maybe it's just my fear talking.

Stay away before you get suckered in,

I don't need anyone to help me, I'm alone without a friend.

Sure there are people who say they care.

But I don't think they do, they don't understand how hard it is for me there.

I don't like to be in a crowd.

I don't like to be judged for the way I sound.

you can turn off the sun, but I'm still gonna shine,

You can say you own me, but my life is mine.

You can claim you love me, but that's not true

I won't believe, until you are sure you do.

You can say I should trust you, you're good underneath

But after all you put me through, what do you expect from me?

You can tell me you're worth it, and I won't lie

when I tell you, you are, but you're sad inside.

Just like me, we are alone.

No one to care for, no one to show.

You can say you hate me, I'm not always right.

But how am I wrong, when you cry at night?

You can say I make you sad, That I'm the reason you're by yourself.

And I'll just tell you, I'm the one who made you happy, when there was no one else.
