Clash Of Wings And Fury. I Became A Dragon (Part 2)

First Day.

As the humans get ready for the first day of their 10,000 hours of community service, they wear a green jumpsuit with a yellow stripe signifying that they are on community service. Following a dragon they find themselves in a massive hall, the only thing that was there was a long table and chairs. The dragon nods and says.
"This is where you will eat, all meals will be here. Breakfast will arrive shortly. After breakfast King James will meet you outside that door behind me. Although I believe he is making mistake, I won't question him. He believes that you can change and become friends with dragons, I am skeptical prove me wrong and you will have my respect." The dragon leaves as breakfast is put on the table, a guard looks at the humans and says.
"King James says to eat and prepare for a hard day's work." They sit and eat, Alex couldn't help but think about what the dragon that showed them here said.
"King James believes that you can  be friends with dragons, I am skeptical prove me wrong and you will have my respect."

After breakfast they meet James outside. James nods and looks at the humans.
"First task is to clean up the fountain in town square and pull the weeds from the community garden."

The humans nod as the follow James to the fountain. It was huge, almost three times the size of any fountain in the human world. Ladders and scrub brushes had been set out.

James smiles and nods.
"Under all that grime and algae is the true colors of the fountain. I was unaware that it was this bad. This is probably going to take you all day to clean. I'll have lunch brought to you. If you find any money in the fountain save it, we donate it to the orphanage."

Alex looks at James in total surprise.
"There's an orphanage here? I spent my childhood in an orphanage. Perhaps I can be of assistance at the orphanage."

A dragon starts to reprimand Alex about not addressing James properly but James stops him.
"We shall see, prove I can trust you first. Then I will consider it."

Alex nods and takes command of the fountain cleaning detail. It takes all day to clean the fountain but it actually looked like it was brand new. James returns later that afternoon and walks around the fountain looking at it, James was actually very impressed by how clean they had gotten the fountain. Alex hands James the money they had found. James nods and smiles.
"Very good, this fountain hasn't been this clean in years. As for the money you found you are coming with me." James says looking at Alex.
"The rest of you, go back and get cleaned up for dinner. Tomorrow you will pull the weeds from the community garden." Alex nods and follows James as the rest of the humans go back to get cleaned up. James and Alex arrive at the orphanage the director of the orphanage smiles and says.
"King James, it's always a pleasure to see you the children are going to be so happy you are here."

James smiles and nods as he pushes Alex forward with his tail.
"We have a donation for you. Alex please give Athena the donation."

Alex nods and hands Athena the money found in the fountain. Athena nods and smiles as she takes the money.
"Thank you Alex, you don't know how desperately we need help at the orphanage, this is going to help make sure that happens."

Alex looks at James and says.
"Please your majesty, please let me serve my community service here at the orphanage. I am willing to do anything to help around the orphanage."

A young dragon trips and falls, Alex runs over and helps him up, dusting him off Alex smiles and says.
"There you go slow down a little."

James watches and says looking at Alex.
"Alex, I have decided to grant your request. You will do as Athena tells you, if at any point Athena feels that you are no longer helpful you go back to doing what the others are."

Alex nods and smiles as he kneels.
"As you wish your majesty. I will serve here at the orphanage faithfully, I swear that you will not regret this decision."

James nods and looks at Athena.
"He will fulfill his community service here at the orphanage. Alex I am trusting you, don't make me regret it, I will not be kind if you do. Athena he is in you custody, have a wonderful evening I unfortunately can't stay. Please tell the children I said hi."

Athena nods and smiles.
"Thank you your majesty, this is going to make things so much easier for the staff." James nods and leaves, Athena looks at Alex.
"Please go get cleaned up, the room you will stay in is at the end of the hall, there's a bathroom and clothes. I know you worked all day on the fountain but I desperately need your help getting dinner set out for the children."

Alex nods and smiles.
"Give me 15 minutes to shower and get dressed and I will definitely help you get dinner set out."

Athena nods and says.
"Good, dinner will be done in 20 minutes."

Alex smiles and goes to get cleaned up so he could help get dinner set out for the children. He was going to make sure James never regretted giving him this opportunity. Even if the other humans screwed up, he was going to prove himself trustworthy.

The dragons at the orphanage watch Alex moving around quickly getting ready for dinner. Athena smiles, James made a wise decision letting Alex serve his community service at the orphanage. Athena watches in amazement as Alex feeds some of the hatchlings, as Athena watches Alex she couldn't help but think how he would make a wonderful father and mate. Alex didn't want to say anything but he actually did think Athena was very beautiful and couldn't help but wonder if she would ever accept a human as her husband or mate whatever they called it.
