One moment Marco was in his living room, the next he was being pushed by a unicorn head into a portal leading who knows where! Going through the portal was like walking through a door, only instead of walking into another room, he was shoved into another world. Marco found himself in what appeared to be a grocery store, but everything was a little... off. The colors were dull purple, unlike the bright orange boxes screaming "Buy me!" back at home. The fruits and vegetables were also off-putting. They were all mix matched colors, some having patterns, and most had a strange texture. There was, what looked like a purple cabbage covered with little hairs, making it look like a half-naked bunny and red carrots that had scaly skin. It was as if it was Halloween and the store replaced everything with a wacky, supernatural-themed food. Marco looked around, trying to figure out where he was when Star jumped through the portal. It closed once the unicorn flew out.
"You!" He glared at the unicorn, rolling his sleeves up. "Get me home, right now! I'm not playing your little game!"
"Marco, it's okay, Pony Head is just trying to help," Star said. "She's not 'playing' anything."
Marco looked at Star and Pony Head. There was no way he was going to win this battle. They had already made up their minds. Great. Just great.
"Fine, whatever," Marco huffed. "But just for the record, I'm not apart of this!"
Pony Head rolled her eyes. "We know Marco, lighten up already!" She lightly bumped Marco's back. "Come on, we have to get our stuff and go, we don't have all day!"
Pony Head flew into the aisles, leaving Marco with Star.
"Is she always like that?" Marco asked.
"Not all the time," Star answered as she picked up a strange polka dot fruit. "She's under stress, just give her a break, okay?"
Give little Miss unicorn a break? Marco was the one who got shoved through a portal into some freaky grocery store against his will. But Marco didn't say anything. Instead, he looked over the strange food. There wasn't a single red tomato or a lumpy avocado, in fact, there wasn't a single normal piece of food on the shelve. Everything was so different, the food back at home would have been the weird ones. Marco picked up some sort of round fuzzy fruit, tossing it in the air. It reminded him of the school's small cheap foam balls they insisted were 'dodgeballs.' Na, real dodgeballs left your target battered and bruised. This was child's play. It was something a baby could handle. Something a princess could handle.
Star was distracted, picking and choosing what to take from the pile of strange food. She was a perfect target. Marco took a few steps back, gaining some distance between him and Star. Star barely seemed to notice and continued to go through the food. Marco slowly pulled his arm back, and threw the piece of fruit, aiming for Star's torso. She turned just in time for the fruit to hit her smack on her chest. Upon impact, the fruit exploded into a cloud of purple smoke, swallowing Star up. A horrible stench started to mix with the smoke.
"Really?" Star coughed, waving the smoke away. "You threw an Urple at me?"
"I didn't know it would go off like that!" Marco insisted, hiding his noise under his shirt. "What is that smell!"
"I'm not sure," Star smiled as she grabbed another urple from the shelve. "Want to find out for yourself?"
Marco held his hands out in defense. "No, no, I'm good!"
Star chuckled. "You're good? Well, I insist you should find out!"
Star threw the fruit at Marco. The fruit burst in front of Marco's feet, just missing him. He ran from the smoke and into the aisle. Star chased after him, with extra ammo in her basket.
