About a week later Izzy is on deck watching everyone move around as they prepare to dock. Everyone seems to have a job.
It's warmer and sunny, one of the better days she's seen on the ship. She looks over at Jack who is talking to his father. She doesn't trust him and doesn't want to be around anyone on the ship, but she'd rather be around Jack than anyone else.
She looks over and sees that part that they're heading towards. She knows that the first chance that she's going to get, she's leaving and not looking back.
"Izzy," Jack says walking up to her. "Come on. Come with me."
She nods, getting up and following him. They go up to where the captain is steering the ship. She keeps her head down, not wanting to make eye contact with anyone, especially the captain.
"Isn't this a beautiful day?" Jack asks her.
"It's nice." She agrees quietly.
"We're stopping for a few days in this upcoming port."
"Oh," Izzy says like she didn't know.
"Let's be on our best behavior and not try anything. How's that sound?" he asks, putting his arm around her.
"Of course." She whispers.
"Do you know what that means?" Jack asks.
"That I listen?" It comes out more of a question than a statement.
"Yes," Jack confirms.
"If you don't, there will be consequences that you won't care for." The Captain tells her.
Izzy nods, and keeps looking at the ground, but moves closer to Jack. He looks at her and gives her a small smile, not that she can see it. It was out of fear that she moved closer to him, but it was a step in the right direction. He doesn't want her to be afraid of him, but he knows it's going to take some time.
Izzy looks up to see where they're going to end up. It only makes her want to leave more. If she can somehow get off and stay out of sight, they'll have to leave without her.
"We'll get you some new clothes. You won't be able to wear that forever." Jack tells her. Izzy nods again. The idea of clothes doesn't upset her. Warmer ones would be appreciated.
Izzy watches as the ship pulls up next to the dock and everyone gets started on securing it so it doesn't move until they leave. She looks out at the docks. People are moving around freely, doing what they like.
The captain does down to the deck, leaving Izzy and Jack alone. "Where are we?" she asks.
"The southern coast of France, well as south as you can get on the coast of France." He explains.
"Oh." She mumbles.
"You have no idea, do you?"
"No," she says shaking her head.
"I'll show you a map later and explain it. I think you'll enjoy it."
Izzy nods following Jack. They do down to his room where he gestures for her to sit. She sits on the bed and Jack sits down next to her. "You know how we talked about being on our best behavior?" Jack asks.
"Yes." She says nodding her head.
"Good. Now listen closely, you are not to leave this room until I come in and get you. Do you understand?"
