Xavier's POV

As I was staring at her back, I felt someone push into me. I immediately growled at them, usually people would cower from my growl but not Malcolm. Especially not when he was already pissed off with me.

Malcolm has been furious since I told him about Lexi being my mate and why I couldn't break off with Elise when I found out.

I remember his reaction when I first told him about my relationship with Elise. He didn't support it.

He told me I would regret messing with the fates, "The Moon Goddess gives us only one mate and for that reason, Alpha, I strongly recommend you pull back out of this relationship. Or you'll regret messing with the destiny she has planned for you."

For an entire month, he was only my beta. He only addressed me as Alpha and would only report to me if it was desperately needed. For that month I lost my best friend.

This time I'm sure, I'm losing him for longer.

"Lay off Alpha, my sister may do as she pleases. The one in the wrong here is you. Now if you'll excuse me, Alpha." He was staring in my eyes, normally that would be taken as a challenge but Ryker was in complete agreement with Malcolm's words. He stomped off, I was left standing by the door.

Malcolm's POV

I first went off to find my parents, it was so pleasant to find them in the living room laughing and joking with the current Luna Rose and Alpha Matthew.

They stopped their conversation as they acknowledged my precise, I bowed to the current Alpha couple, "Alpha", "Luna".

"Oh our dear boy Malcolm, always so formal. Please, just call us Rose and Matthew." Rose had spoken, but I merely nodded.

Based off my serious body language, my parents knew something was wrong.

"Sorry, will you give us a moment." Mom stood up, pulling dad along with her, "Hopefully it won't take long." Dad said as he stood.

"Nonsense, take as long as you need to. Sarah and Alex, we're here for dinner anyways." Alpha Matthew joked.

As we made our way to the kitchen, Alpha Xavier passed us. My wolf, Leon, was furious but knew he had to retain respect, so I held back a growl. My parents sensed the clear anger that was rolling off me in waves as we passed him.

"What's wrong son? Why are you so angry with Xavier?" Dad immediately questioned me as soon as the kitchen door was closed.

I didn't want anyone other than my parents to hear about what I was going to tell them, so I pointed to my head and we formed a mindlink.

(A/N:The following conversation is completely mindlink)

"He found his mate."

"That's wonderful news honey, but why does that make you angry? What does that have to do with us?" Mom asked.

"Well his mate isn't Elise, mom."

"Oh dear, the poor girl must be heartbroken. His mate and Elise."

"Who is his mate, son?"

I looked at him and said this aloud, breaking the mindlink, "Lexi."

The way dad's face changed, you would have thought he was choking on something because his face turned hella red, veins were popping out, and his hands were clenched into fists.

"What?!" He growled. Mom moved closer to dad, trying to calm him down with her touch. After a few deep breathes, dad calmed down.

"Where is your sister?" He asked me, and as we were leaving the kitchen, dad turned to mom who decided to go back to the Alpha family, "Oh and honey, could you tell them we'll have to reschedule."

Dad was beyond furious, he just found out his little girl found her mate and was immediately heart broken just hours ago.

Don't get me wrong, I was just as pissed but no one can compare to a protective father over his daughter.

At the top of the staircase we could hear the conversation taking place in the living room, "I'm sorry but we'll have to reschedule. Maybe another time is for our daughter is best."

"Why the sudden change, Sarah?" I  heard Alpha Matthew speak.

"I'm truly sorry Alpha and Luna but something has come up. Please, let's do this another time."

We had arrived at Lexi's bedroom door, dad knocked. "Go away!" From what we could hear, her voice was hoarse. He knocked again, "Honey-"

"Just leave me alone Xavier, please . . ." She was sobbing, dad turned to me and he was pissed. Immediately he went downstairs, he was on a rampage.

Xavier's POV

Beta Alex had this look of pure rage, and I had a feeling it had to do with me. Before I had come to the living room, I went upstairs to try and talk with Lexi.

"Lexi, will you open the door? Please?" I heard her shuffling around the room, she was coming closer to the door.

"Leave." She whispered. I would have missed it, if I wasn't hanging onto her every word.

"Lexi, please. I just want to talk." I could feel her presence right behind the door. Ryker whined, wanting to touch and comfort our mate.

"Just go, please. Isn't it enough that you have her?" Her voice cracked and along with it, my heart.

"She means nothing to me. Please, let's talk about this." I fell to my knees, of course she would think I still have something with Elise. But she has to know, since I've found her, she's the only one who's been on my mind.

"I-I can't do this right now. Please just go." With a dejected heart, I struggled to get up. It hurt me deeply to have hurt Lexi, my mate.

"I'm sorry Lexi. I'm not giving up on us, I'll be back." She said nothing, I sighed as I walked away.

Right now, Beta Alex was looking to murder me.

"What's the meaning of this, Alex?" My father had stood up in a defensive stance in front of me, it wasn't clear to just me that Beta Alex was furious with me.

I rose from my seat and put my hand on his shoulder, "Father allow me to explain." All of the attention turned on me, "Lexi is my mate."
